You technically could still hit girls in modern video games, for example if smash bros has female characters, Princess Peach could get smacked around by Mario and Luigi, and Nintendo is a family friendly company.



Other ways would be to have a bad ass female character that is gifted at fighting, as seen in Kickass movie, (a preteen girl was getting shot at and punched by grown men and nobody flinched an eye) im sure there was a kickass videogame.

Remember in Super Mario Bros 3, after beating Bowser if you didn't exit the room fast enough the game would go on a permanent pause and you would have to start over.

Imagine doing that today, kids would be heated.
