Mutants are created by celestials turning earth Into a petri dish. Supposedly if mutants get wiped off the map then earth is fukked, but seeing as how mutants are super beyond fukked in most visions of the future, that might not be the case. Speaking of the future, until recently mutants were notorious for believing various time travelers about their fukked up futures, which ends up fukking up their present. And it isn't a one way street, as beast brought the young versions of the the original 5 to the modern era, but has no idea how to send them back, so now we're currently stuck with the little a$$holes.

He didn't know Luke was his son until The Emperor told him (old book canon), Boba Fett told him his last name (new Disney canon).
With Leia he has less contact with her/she basically never registers on the Emperor's radar, and unless he knew her background in detail he'd have no reason to suspect

Another plot hole. How and star wars they are able to replace limbs but can't keep a woman from dying during childbirth.
Padme was fighting side by side with Anakin at one point but the pains of childbirth was to much for her.

The force wasnt that strong in Leia at that point or even at all for that matter. Remember Luke had no connection to the force prior to beginning his training in the Falcon.
