Strategic:Cake and either find another job or open up a small business.

Tactical:If it is keeping you from getting work done and it's only one person , confront them privately. If it's, systemic go to management.

Had an incident where I wore a hoodie at work (I work in a start up type environment). A former manager said "Look we got Trayvon Martin over here. I don't think he realized how ignorant the comment was.

My parents didn't want me to say anything. I eventually said something though and he had a few other things that were dumb af so they moved him to another position.

He affected my career when I first started, but after he was out my way my career flourished.

Don't deal with it. Start your own shyt or work for a black owned company.

At the end of the day we really ain't gotta deal with this shyt. I'm around black people all day and unsurprisingly I never deal with racism.

The key to ending racism is not being around white people :manny:
What about the pawgs tho:patrice:

Nope, make sure you always have a witness present. Otherwise you may get accused of threatening and harassing an employee. Then its your Black word against their white word. Guess who's going to win.

This.

Start your own business and you dont have to deal with any of that. Hire your own people. I did and its awesome.

I jist dont get the mentality on here of just working a job and just complaining on message boards about stuff like this while at work. Torturing yallselves man.

If you can benefit from their prejudices (like suing), do it. If you can't, ignore them and get your bread until you can find a better workplace. Either way, this should motivate you to outperform them and make them put their foot in their mouths. Nothing scarier then a black man on point, bruh :myman:

This is very complicated question as in different workplace the reaction and attitude can be different.

OP is an F.B.I. agent.

But to pretend he isn't and this is a serious thread...

quit being a bytch boy.

No matter who is being biased you can break through barriers if you're good enough.

This goes for blacks and whites.

@Concerning VIolence you want some attention cac? Well, here it is.

The same general rules apply whenever you are a Black person in a predominantly White environment. There are many ways to "deal" with the negative aspects, but I would say the primary ways are to never get comfortable (keep that resume fresh and constantly seek new opportunities) and always remind yourself why you are in such an environment, which I would hope is to just make your money. Some Black people, after spending too much time in predominately White environments, get too comfortable and eventually get reminded that they're Black.

that'd be great if black businesses were flourishing at some level to the point where I shouldn't even think about working for cacs and I don't have to go to Atlanta.

Then start your own company. There's really no other option. If you work for white people, you'll experience racism. If you don't work for white people you won't experience racism.

The shyt is really that simple. Moving to Atlanta was the best decision I've ever made in my life. I'm around black people 24x7 and I can keep my interaction with cacs to the minimum. If I can stay focused by next year I won't have to deal with them at all :blessed:
