That's what I mean swordsmith arc shoulda been a quick few episodes not a whole season

When you reading it that shyt doesn't even feel like an arc if you know what I mean, just a quick moment to train for the main show. They're forcing these weird beginning and end points in the narrative so they can make all this movie money

It's crazy how even with all the bullshyt associated to it Attack on Titan handled their ending the best (minus the dumb branding as "the final arc" that they did) out of all of the major manga and anime out of the last few years

Isayama was like aw hell naw y'all ain't bouta have me getting death threats for an extra 5 years :whoa: we ending this
Demon Slayer combing Swordsmith and Training arc for 1 season would have been so much better. Swordsmith was felt like pretty much filler outside the first 2 and last 2 episodes of training arc.

In hindsight, how AoT handled was fine. If we knew that it would have 2 parts and 2 special episodes, I think the anime would have been received.

Although AoT final season before the industry went crazy with the anime movies when Covid and Mugen Train blew up. They prob planned it all out and prob are mad they couldn't milk the final part in theaters. The best they got was the compilation movie.

Honestly if Isayama dragged the manga any longer then he already did post timeskip it would have ended up as a bigger mess. The writing dropoff is honestly pretty noticable when comparing pre to post timeskip;

The concept of witches is very straightforward as they are more of the evil presence it seems. Although they seem to have represented the negative things that occur in life. Essentially sowing the seeds of negative emotion. The fact that they hide in labyrinths does make is more difficult to deal with.

Though in this story it seems it isn't natural for Magical Girls to be united. In the case of Homura she is very hostile to Kyuubey because she didn't want her to form a contract with Madoka. Understanding the motivation is interesting. Though it seems once they made contact it seems Homura gave up. So what will she do now?

A soul gem seems to be created when a contract to create a magical girl and that serves as the source of their power. Though when the contract is formed they are bound to fight witches. Though it is clear that Homura wanted to prevent that for Madoka. Though Sayaka mentioned of the wishes and how so many people in the world would want to have their wish granted. Basically, a thing of why us specially? Which is a fair question to ask. Though the comment that Mami makes that wishes lie side by side with death is concerning.

It is very cool that the Soul Gem can detect witches. Once again, the art when they enter the labyrinth is creepy, but really sets the environment well. Also, how the Witch themselves look so creepy. Making them look nonhuman is definitely an interesting style used. The Witches Kiss seems to be the main catalyst for the terrible things that happen to humans, like suicide, deaths and other things. Though the Grief Seed which is the Witches Egg. So, is it what creates the Witches? The fact that the Magical Girls use it to replenish the Soul Gem is interesting, but that means the two are connected in some way, I would assume. Witches are born from curses, so does that connect with the Grief Seed?

I finally listened to you and watched this show….

Meh… it’s ok…. Definitely better than weak ass Lazarus and maybe To Be A Hero and some others..

Not better than FF (Latem 🙏🏾) and Windbreaker

This season is cooked man

Blame a whole generation of washed nikkas overrating Cowboy Bebop for the reason why we have mid ass Lazarus. nikkas love jazzy music paired with some slick a$$hole.

To Be A Hero animation looks worse than Berzerk's. At least that had demonic fukkery and violence going for it.

Windbreaker is fire once you tune out all the sappy ass cringe dialogue.

Fire Force still doing its thing, but that opening was a swing and a miss.

Old Country Bumpkin hits cuz it doesn't try to be too much. The animation is decent, but the fighting is realistic and they always give good technical insight on certain moves. Prolly has the best opening this season. 3rd episode was fire.

That Yaiba Samurai joint is fire. Old school vibe but with crazier action.

Sword of the Demon Hunter has been decent. Nothing crazy, but I've seen worst.

MHA Vigilantes been dope. Its like an underground version of MHA.

Honestly, we've had much worst seasons than this.

Another great episode despite the animation being lackluster, but fine enough to deliver on the episode. Honestly, in the writing department so far it is one of the best from this season.

We get a continuation of the conversation between Jinya & Ofuu. I love the message she conveys to him about living in the moment. That sure it is always good to have a purpose in life, but live in the moment too. Enjoy what life has to offer because while Jinya will out live most humans, we know even demons meet their end eventually. Her saying he is blind is perfect to describe where he is, and you can see she has had a positive effect on him in the short time he has been with her.

Mosuke finally finds the monster and blindly went at for his revenge. Kind of makes you think this might happen to Jinya if he went blindly at his revenge for Suzune. Which I am happy the story is adding depth to what Jinya wants to do with Suzune. For Mosuke his power is passed onto Jinya, and he gains the memories and sees his wife is raped and killed.

However, when Jinya catches up to the demon he sees that it kills men and eats the woman. The information we were given was that it would r**e the woman. Of course, Jinya knew something was up. After he killed the demon, he realizes that Hatsu was the demon. Purely she just wanted to return to Mosuke. Eating the women being what would allow her and potentially get a human body much like Mosuke maybe? The sad reality is that Jinya's suspicions being true that the demon wasn't responsible for Hatsu's death. But he was at the very least able to absorb Hatsu's power, so, in a way her and Mosuke are reunited. I am happy he fulfilled Mosuke's request to get revenge for his wife.

Also happy to see Natsu again. It is good to see how much she has grown in these 3 years. Kind of would like to see her more throughout Jinya's journey since she is his adoptive sister. Though I imagine the scars that Suzune left on him still have an effect on him from getting too involved in her life.

Unlike the others where it is animation and visual first. Sword of the Demon Hunter is one where so far the story, writing and themes are doing the heavy lifting. Honestly feels like a series you wouldn't watch for the action, but man it is a very intriguing Dark Fantasy IMO.

Nah Old Country Bumpkin definitely ain't animation and visual first. :mjlol:
The endearing story and technical aspects of fighting are its real strong points. The action is definitely better than Sword of the Demon Hunter, but outta the list those two shows do have the best story definitely.

The ending to this episode was like :damn:

One thing that is interesting is what both Madoka & Sayaka want with their wish. Madoka feels like the very typical Mahou Shoujo character where the opportunity to become a Magical Girl is more than enough. While for Sayaka there is someone whom she would want to make a wish for. We see a brief flashback of her attending a performance. Is the person she close to that same performer? Both are very idealistic wishes.

o52MkIL.png

Meanwhile, Mami's conversation with them provides an interesting angle. As making a wish for someone, there are extra factors to consider. Do they even want the wish that you are granting them? Do you have an exterior motive to it? Although most concerning is what Mami brings up to Madoka. The reality of being a Magical Girl isn't all rainbows & sunshine. You get the sense that Mami's wish was for her to continue living, so in essence it is very much like Madoka's wish from a certain perspective. Mami getting eaten truly enhances that moment.

Py6WJAn.png

SfM7ZZI.png

Though given how Kyuubey mentions it would rather have their wish sooner than later and more so the conversation between Mami & Homura. The feel around Mami feels really odd. Homura has a point that they are leading Sayaka & Madoka on the path to being a magical girl. The mentions of Madoka and her potential is ominous. It feels like Mami was trying to push them to agree to the contract, which would be the only reason she would hold Homura hostage. Though I am curious how Madoka & Sayaka react with Mami being gone.

Beyond that, we get the bit of knowledge that Witches have familiars. Though with no Grief Seeds, means they can't recover their magic. But they can become a Witch if I understood what Mami said? It's a fukked up scenario.

Man, I love the dynamic between Meg & Sophie. For Sophie, she was blessed with magic, but where she lived, Magic wasn't the norm. Even more so, she was outcasted for being skilled in it. In away magic took everything away from Sophie. While for Meg, despite being an orphan all her connections were made partially because of magic. So you can't blame Sophie for being partially envious of Meg.

J4fhG3E.png

All things considered, Sophie just wants to make a connection with people with magic. Over the course of the episode we see Meg have an impact on Sophie in the good way and at the end, having her drop the Miss part. After all, they are the same age.

Xmy8oto.png

Though Sophie also saw a bit of Meg that showed her she can be dependable. Sophie's mistake was something she could have done on her. Meg was afraid of losing those that she holds dear and uses magic to protect those that she holds dear. I sincerely hope we get to see more of Meg & Sophie together because I feel they can build each other up.
