Essential What Anime are you currently watching?

As a simple measuring stick for engagement... how does A Lord of the Rings series with Less Action, and more Character Development and Travel sound to you? If your looking for something with plenty of action Frieren wouldn't be the flavor you, as there is some good Action at times but not a core focus.

Adventure Fantasy. Where a lot of series end up being generic about defeating the demon lord, here it is about the journey after. The journeys of an Elf where 100 years for her is like 1 year for a human.

Honestly, for me, I got invested since I read chapter 1 and for most people, 4 episodes in will get you an idea. I was confused why people were 6 episodes deep and still asking does it get better, since the series establishes itself early on what it is all about. It isn't like Monogatari where you just get what it is about as you go. Frieren is very straightforward.

Honestly, Frieren, Dungeon Meshi and Monogatari had some of the best action scenes from 2024 despite none of them being action shows.

Well, I wouldn't classify Dungeon Meshi as action too much. Like there is action as the group travels, since it is more so about the world building of the dungeon and how the gang interacts. Unlike Frieren, Dungeon Meshi has great comedy working in its favor where it's really charming imo.

Honestly SLF comes across as an action-adventure because it isn't about just the fights, but rather the world of SLF and the other games. Plus, like Dungeon Meshi the personalities really shine.

While stuff that are basically a battle anime where it's all about the fights would be stuff like Bleach, Solo Leveling and Kaiju 8.

I know you're a simple breh with simple tastes, but could you explain why you didn't like that anime.

Not trying to be disrespectful or start another war in here (been mad peaceful lately) but I always see nikkas hype that shyt up and any time I see clips or read a lil about it, shyt seems mad boring. Is it worth watching? Will I be entertained?

Yea, I like shows with crazy action or some type of fukkery and a decent amount of comedy and soul.

Some shows either have a great adrenaline rush or make you feel something.

Frieren to me was like eating a frozen cheese pizza or unseasoned fried chicken

A decent show but had No flavor

Yeah Dungeon Meshi was pretty fukking dope.

I'd definitely put that in the action category. Especially with the pacing and something was always happening. They just balanced it out with the cooking fukkery so it'd have some depth. Show was never boring and nikkas damn near fighting every episode.
