Otome Game was a fun and enjoyable watch despite the garbage art design and animation. Might end up checking the manga down the line.

Just finished the new version of Shaman King

Finale was building up to this so i don't mind too much. It was a good journey got me invested till the end..made me interested in the sequel which i believe is coming. Never read the latter parts of what was released after Shaman King manga but i assume Joh's kid will have to convince Hao the world can change for the good, initially at least.

I stopped around 12 or 14 it’s not bad it’s just ok I guess I just don’t like the other heroes at all to be frank

Just wrapped up catching up Danmachi and sharing my main thoughts since you are a big fan. Imo I rate it like this:
  1. S3
  2. S1
  3. Orion Movie
  4. S2
  5. OVA 3
  6. OVA 1
  7. Sword Ortario
  8. OVA 2
  • S1 was just pure fun watch. It gets you invested to the story and Bell becomes pretty solid after halfway through. He gets nice development in each season going forward. The last third of the season was a lot more intense then I expected. OVA 1 was alright considering it was fan service.
  • Watch the movie and it was solid. I guess it being non-canon is because of some issues, but felt very similar to S1 to me in a lot of ways.
  • I watched Sword Ortario and I figured I'd learn more about Ais, but instead it was fukking Lefiya. If I ever thought Bell was annoying I have to apologize to the kid. This yuri day dreaming elf made this so worse to watch (I aint got nothing against Yuri if the show is good like Executioner and Her Way of Life as an example) Def agree with what I heard that you are better off skipping it.
  • S2 clearly has pacing issue from the war game ending too quickly. Tho I thought the main part with Haruhime was good. Tho the last part of Hestia getting captured again another pacing issue. Tho the final episode did some foreshadowing about S3 which is good. OVA 2 was 30 mins of my life I never got back. Bad humor, bad fan service atrocious episode even by fanservice OVA standards.
  • S3 easily felt the strongest to me. I honestly felt like pacing wise it felt fine to me from just an anime only perspective. Everything involving Wiene and Bell's relationship was great to me. This season gave Hestia a much needed boost since she stepped up big dealing with the Weine situation on the fly. S1 + S2 she basically felt useless and annoying. Obviously Bell got a big development with self confidence and pursuing his ideals.
Some general thoughts regarding S4:
  • Loki Familia is def looking sus now. Granted the two uncertainties def is Ais and Tiona. Feels pretty likely to me that Tiona will likely side with Bell's familia tho idk about AI's. Was kind of shocked she didn't kill Wiene in front of Bell.
  • Hermes is so weird. He is like some gray neutrality. Where he is trying to make Bell this Hero, but does things where clearly it makes it tougher on Bell.
  • Freya familia which I thought would be the primary villians early on haven't been that. Freya seem to really like Bell, but is more just watching him very closely then Hermes who is more involved. But the big thing is Syr. She has to have some connection of the Freya familia. I mean she can't be related to Bell, I think?
  • Uranus looked major sus early on. Seems to be a much more neutral character. Was a suprise that he favored the Xenos and humans co-existing.
Really excited for S4 when it starts at the end of July.

Gonna try out Overlord next. Not expecting too much, but hopefully it is entertaining enough.

Ova wasn’t something I cared about to be frank
Sword oratoria anime is :trash: one of the worse adapted and I haven’t seen it but what I was told I see why people hated it
It isn’t even bout lefi like that which is crazy she does have a big part but it’s not what u think
The sword oratoria aka SO novels are to me actually better than the main story cuz of the world building and all the characters backstory and development that happens.

S4 isn’t what u think it is goin by what ur saying I can tell u that
Without spoiling it’s bout the dungeon itself and what happens that causes HELL for MC and other people it’s gory in the books but doubt anime show it like that all I can tell u is this first couple episodes will be slow burn or some prelude to when fukkery happens and it’s just pure action galore for awhile
Vol 14 to me is opus magnum for any series I read still with others coming close so I’m watching closely how it’s adapted
If u want a slight idea u can read summary vol 13 it’s gives u idea what’s up don’t read vol 14 summary at all
Vol 12 is when s4 starts if u want to read summary for that also it’s 13 and especially 14 when shyt goes down
Reading summary for vol13 u still have no idea how bad it gets

Hermes wants a hero and bell’s relationship to someone is why he does what he does
Freya sees bell as pure and someone she can’t have so she wants him
Syr revelation is a huge shocker I can tell u that much but I doubt they show it BUT cuz they increase ep count and the timing of the release and vol 18 in Japan people think now it will end on vol 16 which is her reveal so we’ll see
