Also I think Dragonball Super is over-hyped because of the big moments. People love the Goku vs Kefla & Beerus vs Zamasu moments, but did everyone forget the rest of the show? Super took almost many episodes to turn up as Dragon ball GT had total. Super has roughly 50 episodes of mid. GT's full run was only 64 episodes yet people treat them like they aren't the same
Anyone who actually disagrees with this is a stan or DB series is the only shyt they've watched. Hell, I'd argue that it never really turned up because there would always be a lot of down time in-between the moments that it never reached a peak. Did nothing to really expand the lore in a meaningful way because a lot of the ideas introduced are either so basic or incomplete that it takes fan theories to try and plug in the holes.
The peak villain was probably Goku Black, but it didn't take long for that to get really bad. Introducing the present Zamasu, and then the alternate one was unneeded and overly convoluted. I think they would have been better off just having Goku Black squaring off dolo then that whole fusion shyt.
ToP was nothing but filler imo. Outside of the big moments, most of the fights were trash with trash choreography and animation. Power scaling was also thrown out the fukking window in favor of fanservice.
Only thing Super (where the anime left off) has contributed that was pretty dope in its entirety is Hit. Battle of the Gods introduced Super Saiyan God which shyts on Blue every day of the week. Ultra Instinct/Blue Evolution are both
palette swaps.
The next arc they animate will be dope, but eventually fall off hard.
