Fire Force starts off pretty mid but gets really good in the second half of the first season. Second season starts strong, gets a bit into a lull with the main plot line but is coming together again. It's a bit inconsistent but it's more often good than it's not.

Mappa is adding small details that weren't in the manga. For the better imo.
For example, when Gojo explains to Itadori the limits of his power and how he can't do sorcerer abilities yet. In the manga he's just disappointed. In the anime he namedrops Naruto, YYH, Bleach, DBZ signature moves that he wished he was cool enough to pull off. Funny SJ meta humor.
