Essential What Anime are you currently watching?

So, DIGIMON was pretty cool, but then I saw this new one for this season.

Iwakakeru -Sport Climbing Girls-, a sports anime about competitive speed climbing. Usual bullshyt about people joining sports clubs, "I NEED TO JOIN A CLUB. OH THIS LOOKS EXCITING!"

Anyways, the lead, is a former professional gamer, who sees this new thing as fun and exciting. The same year, Jun, is this MILITANT chick who is on her Kobe game, "THIS ISN'T FUN, THIS IS LIFE!" plus you got the shortstack and the chill captain.

The designs look nice, and it's not really slice of life per see with four chicks. Plus, unlike Ahiru no Sora, which can be plodding and slow, this looks energetic and stylish. Still, I can't stop laughing at how intense Jun is about the sport, she was about to choke this girl for comparing it to a game.

Mineta needs to be thrown into the bushes, just seeing him on the preview screen is disgust. Aside from that, Class-A vs. B wars should be a good arc.

hard to answer that in the same way that Evangelion is difficult to pitch to someone. depends who's watching and what they take from it.

I liked Utena because it's filled with convincing interpersonal drama (not frivolous teenage angst, but deep seated issues borne out of abuse) and fukkery that will blindside you at any given moment. It relies a lot on symbolism and metaphor, so two people can take different interpretations from the same scene not be wrong. Rarely does it play anything straight. That could be frustrating, or it could be fun as you marathon episodes to find out what comes next and try to piece together what is happening.

It has the appearance of a generic shoujo esque fairy tale, but that's actually just a trap so you don't expect it to deconstruct everything you think is typical of those genres. First segment of episode one is a pink haired girl rejecting femininity and asking why can't girls dress like boys. fukk waiting for a prince charming I am prince charming and I do what I want. A lot of the characters appear to be something and turn out to be more layered than you could imagine. A lot of development, too.

Like Eva its worth watching at the very least for the experience and the reactions to what winds up happening. A synopsis doesn't really do much for Utena.

don't recall tomboy characters other than Utena. Maybe Juri, but wouldn't call her that, and she's not interested in Utena anyway. Guys are the ones that influence her most.

Todoroki fell behind and had to do a whole catchup mini-arc. He is therefore is more of a fukk up than Mineta according to UA let that sink in

Mineta cleared the entrance exam with his quirk through sheer cunning. Breh saw that he had to deal with several 30ft mechas with just his balls and he got it done. Even Deku with his DBZ Kaio Ken quirk damn near got bushed because of that test.

Breh may struggle with keeping himself out of trouble and not doing dumb stuff over p*ssy but you know what he does NOT struggle with? Missions
