This new episode of OPM had decent animation after like 6 or 7 straight looking ones.

Would it be surprising if Season 3 is picked up by another studio or do we just have to hope and pray shyt gets better for when the real shyt starts happening in this arc?

Right up to that headshot, Gungrave was the best gangsta anime I'd ever seen. The whole "everyone turns to zombies" ruined it for me though.

Indeed it was great, man Brandon wasn't able to smell the roses ever in his life, he had to see big daddy take his girl and killed by his BF. I've been reading a gungrave fanfic based after the anime ending.

The tone shift is because the whole "undead gunfighter" stuff is the actual story of the PS2 video game it was based on. When adapting it to anime the studio basically overachieved by turning the premise of an arcade combo shooter game into a grand gangster epic about loyalty and friendship.

I'm surprised that they didn't add the extraterrestrial beings from the game on the anime, Brandon in the game kills Harry, his wife then seeks for revenge on Gungrave Overdose.

It's crazy how it's an old anime from the 60s or 70s, the producers did a fantastic job modernizing it. The anime needs more love.

I'm into anime but not THAT into anime were I have a bunch of shows to watch. So spending 20 minutes each week with OPM is still worth it

Season 2 has been a step down in every sense though. Animation was the first couple of eps but then took a nosedive up until this week were you could at least see some cool fighting sequences. But the humor and story have been meh so far.. It made me go read the webcomic and manga to check what was gonna happen next. I hope season 3 (who knows when that happens) gets better work all around because there's ton of good stuff coming.

Still, after finally reading ONE's webcomics, Mob Psycho >> OPM and not just because Studio Bones took shyt to another level for Mob.

I never understood why Araki just completely dropped Hamon. There are so many additional tactics he could put into fights if some stand users could also channel Hamon.

Hamon is underrated, stands led to too much fuuckery so it had to be phased out

Someone summed it up perfectly on reddit:

"He sees George's attentive nature as insulting, since the Joestar Family gives him and Jonathan whatever they need to grow up, completely opposite of how Dio grew up, where he had to take what he can get and even take from other people when needed.

He sees those who grew up pampered, like Jonathan, as weak. His dominate personality is also a result of constantly watching his back all the time. If he's dominant, then no one will dare take him down.

As a member of the lower class of society, he has a deep hatred for the upper class. His family was poor, and his father constantly abused him and his mother. Until he came across Jonathan who was "weaker" than him, he really didn't have anything to release his pent up rage. He preys on the weak, and in his case, it's Jonathan and Erina.

When Jonathan pummeled the living shyt out of him, Dio began to see Jonathan as not weak and began to take him seriously, someone who is a real threat, and also a formidable adversary.

Notice that whatever bad deeds he has done, he always tries to justify it by saying that it was all necessary to take down Jojo, or secure his way to riches. It was only when Speedwagon accused of Dio being born evil that he hit his breaking point.

He thought to himself that since he was born evil, then all his deeds doesn't need justification. He can go all out. And go all out, he did"

Hiroyuki Imaishi and Kazuki Nakashima are two of the greatest anime collaborators of all time, those two are so perfectly tuned into anime tropes and bending them to perfection. @Mr. Negative

I never can get hype about anime movies. don't know why.
