anime watchers crying in the comment section that there is too little saitama this season :mjlol:

That's what you get when you only watch the anime :mjlol::mjlol:

I must say they are doing a very good job with this seasons adaptation because the manga is all over the place. With every character having their own storyline.

If you compare one punch man web comic and the official manga :mindblown: yusuke murata a legit magician with his art :banderas:

I don't fw Mecha so I felt like I wouldn't really be able to appreciate a deconstruction of the genre that much, but I know I need to see it :francis:

you can not understand what neon genesis is deconstructing and still enjoy it. just think about how a fourteen year old kid would react to having the fate of the world put on his shoulders.

Is he gonna embrace adversity like a shonen hero or go cry in a corner because the responsibility is too large for a kid to reasonably handle?

I feel you, I could appreciate and enjoy Madoka Magica without understanding the Magical Girl genre it was destroying, but I still felt like I didn't get the full experience someone who knew the genre would. With something as important and acclaimed as Evangelion I figured I'd put it off until I have at least some grasp on the genre, but idk if I'll ever get there I think the only mecha anime I've seen still are Code Geass which I fee like doesn't totally count and Gurren Lagann which is so over the top I feel like it's a bit different than the core anime of the genre itself. Might just say fukk it and go in

I would argue the less you know the better the initial experience is. Then you'll be more shocked at what winds up happening

and you could always go back and rewatch it later after you do understand the context better. I rewatch Bebop every year because I find something I didn't pick up on before that makes whole experience brand new. Same with Neon Genesis that I don't think anyone completely understands because it's structured in a way that allows for multiple interpretations.

Some of the important ideas it deconstructs are character archetypes that can be found in just about every genre. Like the brave kid hero who becomes progressively stronger, the tsundere love interest and the subservient waifu. You should be able to recognize a lot of familiar tropes

Binged all 13 episodes of Megalobox. :Othumb:
It’s no Hajjme no Ippo but it pretty damn entertaining, very much like it.
Also cannot believe I’ve be sleeping on Battle Angel Alita all these years. I’m 3 volumes into the manga and I did not expect it to be this violent and captivating. :wow:

Last 2 episodes were pure fire as expected, should be seen as 1 though. Dude that voices Erwin does such a good good conveying how easy it is for the characters of the show to follow him anywhere no matter the cost. That's our Dancho :to:

Damn Cioccolata is one scary mofo(Wiggling his spine like a dog), the man was a sadist and ambitious, they should have gave him his unique theme. Cioccolata had me rolling when he left his pet a message telling him that he'll give him 5 sugar cubes and rub his back:russ: ,then he said that he'll overthrow the boss.

This Secco cat is also pretty scary he was Cioccolata experiment that obviously suffers from Stockholm syndrome hence him teaming up with Cioccolata. I thought Secco was gonna be dumb, he's pretty damn clever and pay's attention to details, he was trying hard to find out why Buccirati wasn't getting harmed by the mold, anyway it's a shame he'll have to die i kinda feel sorry for the guy.
