Finished Irresponsible Captain Tylor. The way that he empowers his crew to reach their potential outside of being dogs to the military and rejects protocol to find unconventional solutions that avoids unecessary violence is inspiring. He looks irresponsible, but is actually the most calculated character in the narrative who beats expectations each episode until his genius is fully recognized by everyone. almost identical to Kintaro from Golden Boy.

It’s generally known for being a funny parody of space narratives with likable characters, both of which are true, but there’s also commentary on military corruption, wrongfully stereotyping individuals by species/the faction they belong to, identity crisis and even female harassment in the workplace. On top of that it was made in 1993 and the animation looks great even now. Really well developed anime
