I just watched the first episode of that Bunny Girl anime because people on here were talking about it. It's actually pretty interesting, I thought it would be a stupid high school drama which I usually don't watch.

You'd think they wanted to create a cult classic or something.

Cause no way anyone would watch it with that press run they put out.

You'd either have to be a fan of the light novels or watch it from word of mouth.

I just was thinking of that show the other day, I wish the first like 18 episodes were like the final 8

anime Vash was too good for that world.

I kinda feel it was more made for non-eastern audiences.

They were slowly trying to introduce us to that "life starts off innocent and good but then you get the horror of adulthood" philosophy that Japan was comfortable with by the time EVA rolled around.

a Simplified and dumed down version, really

compare the ideologies we got with Trigun and Gundam Wing.

Trigun had Vash go from Idealistic with the whole world against him to him overcoming and fine

Gundam W had no actual villians with different philosophies and viewpoints, motivated by different shyt, shifting alliances, etc.

before that we had american cartoons with moral of the week and nobody died.

Hell, compare the other joints with their "Hero beats bad guy who becomes their friend" and that "power of friendshyt" we all need to dismiss.

It's really almost our post atomic bombs vs kawaii view of japan

Man, it's hard to argue against Araki's creativity with all the classic stuff Jojo has delivered but goddamn, the names he comes up with are getting more uninspired and lazy with the minute. I could deal with him just naming every stand after a band or song but now this motherfukker is just naming folks after Italian food too. :mjlol:

I think I had a convo w/ the breh @42 Monks about it not sure, but like I felt the show didn't know what it wanted to be and the ideals and themes it tried to blend didnt make sense. Like in the beginning it was mostly your typical shounen that had a monster/bad guy of the week westerner and THEN it started to mix in science, and the adulthood horror theme you just mentioned and the whole ideals of how humans act , and then the the stuff of his origin with his brother. I feel if the show was mostly about the 2nd half it would be the Classic its known as but I feel the odd start/ somehow dull in some episodes in the beginning kept it from it

I loved the Wolfwood and wish they went even more in-depth his backstory
