This bothered me too and I would bring it up when people would say "Naruto was all alone" when im like, man, Shikamaru was rocking with Naruto in every instance they tried to show Naruto as a kid. And The Third was the one looking after him personally as a baby/toddler then Iruka took over when he was academy age. The nikka had friends and people who cared about him from the jump because obviously, everyone that wasnt a child knew he was the 4th's son. It was a weak plot device to use for him.

I think it was more so the fact that he didn't have a home or family to go back to. He was seeking everyone's attention and he bonded with Sasuke most despite Shikamaru having his back because Sasuke didn't have a family and was one of the last of his clan too. The adults despised him cause Karuma cleaned out a whole village and was sealed inside of him. He mostly grew on his classmates and enemies and then it spread. Boruto is the opposite who becomes more like Sasuke.

fukk the 3rd. The 4th saved the village for everyone. You know how the 3rd repays him? He throws Naruto into the ghetto of the leaf village, allowing him to live by himself instead of grooming him into royalty.

Finished the York New arc in Hunter x Hunter.. I was disappointed with how it concluded

Now I’m 3 episodes into Greed Island... This shyt is feeling like Yugioh. I’m not liking it so far

Anime is mostly a giant commercial for the manga. Most anime doesn't even adapt a 3rd of the source material's story before the season ends and it is permanently left unfinished. Every now and then you get a Naruto or One Piece where it's padded with trash fillers or you get something like Attack on Titan that's drawn out for years waiting for seasons.

Anime would be better than manga if it wasn't so dependent on it.

I remember Gara and them being in that arc too. I think that's the last arc before the og Naruto becomes filler
I'm like damn, there hasn't been any filler episodes yet. I look at the filler list, and its like the last 100 episodes or so.
Imagine being a fan back in the day following the anime

And the funny thing about this all is how you have over 100 episodes of naruto filler, remake the series as shippuden, and still be heavy in filler?

Shikamaru my favorite to begin with, but you can see that those three are friends without even saying it.

BUT if you read both then

Original Naruto was GOAT. The fights and story were top notch. The charm was that even though Naruto was a dummy and not a perfect ninja like Sasuke, he used his imagination with his limited ninja skills. Like how he beat Neji in the exams or like when he used his clones to make a rasengan. I've said it before here but Kishimoto probably got tired of choreographing extravagant fights and fleshing out characters not named Naruto or Sasuke (or too busy counting money).

When Naruto brought out the harem no jutsu on Kaguya I was like that's my number 1 knuckle head ninja.

I would have liked Naruto to learn more of Jiraiya's techniques, he had a ton of goofy, yet powerful ones. Imagine two frogs on his shoulders talking shyt.
