Outline - Read Without Clutter

Without directly addressing free agency or the factors that will determine his decision, Durant explained why he has felt comfortable with the Warriors for reasons beyond collecting championships and Finals MVP trophies. He also expressed appreciation for how he has developed as a player and a thrived in an environment that he says remains free of individual agendas.

“With our relationship,” Durant said, “I feel like I’ve been here my whole career.”

The biggest talking point that bothers him? “A lot of people think I get in Steph’s way,” Durant said. “I hear that a lot.”

Durant heard that plenty when he won his second Finals MVP award after the Warriors swept Cleveland in the 2018 NBA Finals.

Durant averaged 28.8 points while shooting 52.6 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from 3-point range, along with 10.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists. He also had 43 points in a Game 3 win that included a dagger 3-pointer over LeBron James. But Curry averaged 27.5 points while shooting 40.2 percent from the field and 41.5 percent from 3-point range, along with 6.8 assists and 6.0 rebounds.

“If he was the one winning Finals MVP, I would’ve been there supporting him. He supported me,” Durant said. “It did not matter. He played MVP-type basketball. He didn’t get the trophy. But he got a championship. It’s not about that. We both played great basketball. We should’ve been co-MVP’s. I hate that whole talk. Stop taking away from what he did because he didn’t win an award. I hate that.”

Oh, they ain't gone like this.....Plat thread incoming...LOL!!

Warriors' urgency for McCaw's return fades with hot start

Myers and coach Steve Kerr continue to tell us they’re keeping the door open for Patrick McCaw, and they might even mean it. For reasons of franchise image, it’s the right way to frame it.

The stark reality is that even if the Warriors still want McCaw, now in Week 6 of his self-imposed absence, they must realize they no longer need him.

The Warriors own the rights to McCaw, and there is no reason to renounce because there is value in standing between McCaw any team interested in acquiring him.

But any urgency for him returning to the Warriors, if it existed at all, has faded.
