The trap music sounds dated and is a huge nod to the original trap music of 2005-2011 by nikkas like Jeezy, Gucci and Juicy J

I think he’s trying to recreate the sound from when he was in the streets and actually trapping to that music

Even though that’s the last thing his fans want to hear from him

The dusty "real hip hop" Griselda nerds aren't gonna be happy with these Tay Keith and Forever Rollin placements

Kostas pretty dope though :whew:

I love it. Different type beats and direction. I mean shyt I have so much Griselda shyt to listen to. Some of these songs will switch of the vibe.

I fukk with the trap beats

FlyGod Jr was great on 10 but the “trap” shyt on this tape is god awful. Only Conway sounds at home over these beats of the 3

FlyGod 2x
Mama’s Primetime
Kitchen lights
Babylon Bis
Jalen Rose
Suicide in Selfridges
House of Glory

Are keepers though

Edit: I’ll throw “Kostas” and 1989 in there too latter should have had another Conway verse

I'll be playing the album on my way to class this morning...

Big Griselda fan and WSG and Conway are my favorites of the trio, I'm not sure who is better because it depends on my mood, more often I lean towards Conway.

The last WSG album I really liked was 10 and haven't really listened to Peace “Fly” God yet. I know this is the sequel to Pray for Paris, an album that I liked but oddly enough kinda forgettable but I still rate it highly around 7.5-8.

Hopefully this is as good as 10...

Mamas prime time
Suicide in selfridges
Flygod 2x
Kitchen lights
House of glory
jd wrist ( this the first time I heard nack rap on beat)
Jalen rose
Babylon bis
And the revenge of flips leg (Rome and conductor never miss!!) are keepers
The rest of this can go in the trash, I don’t even mind the trap songs but west fux all of them up with his flow and voice. He should have “curated” those and just did the hooks. Conway, Benny, Denzel, Jeezy, Peezy and Ross sound right at home on those beats but West sounds completely out of place.

The beats on here definitely sound like the Gucci mixtapes when he was locked up. They do sound like the ones from the Juicy J mixtapes around then too. This post gives a new appreciation to those songs. I think you're 100% right.

The best trap songs, at least the beats, are

JD Wrist
Freddy Js (I wish they mixed the snare differently. That would make the song to 11

Outside of the song with JID and Conway, it’s awful. Like it’s just noise to me lol. I’ll try to give it a more thorough listen later, but it is not hitting right now.

Different sounding album from Westside, some songs are in his original form and some are modern. The Ross feature is good, same with the Griselda and Rome Streetz song.
