Not a westcoast breh but my guess is, #1 chose the G lifestyle over making a rap career. #2 he was never a major
artist and comes from a smaller market (sacramento/northern cali).
I remember him being really popular in Texas when I was in high school. I tried to listen, but the music was too gangsta for me. I felt like I really needed to be a banger to get into his music. Then every time I look up he locked up.
