Man, folks were getting cooked and fried if they came to school wearing some Payless shoes. God help you if you step up in some bright white Sketchers.

shyt got so bad in middle school that they made folks wear a school uniform. I remember when I had to square up with this dude who tried to jack my Eddie Bauer jacket. My cousin got jumped because he was rocking a Nautica jacket and some fresh Timbs. :mjcry:

I remember being 6 or 7 years old walking to the rec center and getting ATTACKED by a group of older girls cuz I had on a polo shirt. They grabbed me and checked the tag to see if it was real...it wasn’t :francis:

i had similar experiences and now look back and laugh about how ridiculous it all was

watch your life get ethered away in the cafeteria. :snoop:

It got so bad at my school tbat every day during lunch, most of the black ppl didnt even eat. Instead we all stood in the foyuer outside the cafeteria and roasted each other. Lol.

It was usually the same dudes cracking on each other, but if you laughed too hard you would get it too.

yeah, kids now have no idea. nikkas now can were anything non-matching...head looking crazy and be considered in fashion. Back in the 90's that was just life:francis:. Show up in school in some bootleg Fubu or something and watch your life get ethered away in the cafeteria. :snoop:

Yeah, live executions at 12 when the Polo-inner jacket lining didn't pass the muster. Heaven help you if that tag wasn't legit...

Bobo sneakers man, kids tried to hide their feet under their desks or put lunch bags over them.

The early 00s was the worst. Cats lived by matching outfits and name brands. Some were so obsessed, that they made claims that even they pajamas had to be high end shyt. :wtf:

Some people couldnt even go outside on a summer day without rocking name brand shyt.

Yeah i remembered being clowned just because of my sneakers or because my clothes were not baggy enough , this was early 2000 tho.
i also remembered there was a period of time where xxl shirts with looney tunes characters were the hottest thing in the block.

high school was the worst. in college nobody gave a fukk b/c people use to dress casual, street, nerdy, poor...nobody cared.

and this was on an HBCU

In Baltimore, if you wore Rebook and Fila after 1998, you would get crucified.

The mid- late 90s were pretty bad tho when you wear a t-shirt and nikkaz want to check your tags. nikkaz didn't even care if the shyt was ugly as long as it was name brand.

When I got my first job I'd spend $100 ( basically my whole check) on a pair of Azzure jeans.... Wtf was I thinking.
