Funny though, my favorite song by them is actually a pretty depressing track (Ghetto b*stard).

But they made a lot of good party type tracks too.

Whoever got lost in the anthems and didn't take them seriously are straight dummies. From The Hood Comes First, Guard Your Grill, Yoke The Joker, all the way to God Is Us...too many examples of excellence out of that crew(lyrical skill and production both) to not rate them as one of the greatest.

Truth is, we as the listening public don't appreciate how spoiled we've been from having all those great groups available at the same time, or at the very least have one fade out and another just seamlessly fit in their space. Look at the soundscape now, and...

Naughty by Nature was considered bubble gum rap when rap was super hardcore 92-96.

Which is funny because if you listen to the lyrics they were spitting hardcore shyt over upbeat happy sounding beats.

ive come to appreciate them much more as time goes on, treach especially feels criminally underrated casue of the commercial box they were in but dude was a beast on the mic
