I as recently far back as around 2013...I remember that Lots of producers (mainly hardware producers) would shun FL Studio and dub it a "toy." Even Reason and Ableton producers would say that FL was an inferior program and mostly amateurs use...I mean..It's not like 9th Wonder, Hit Boy, Lex Luger, and the hotest producer out right now...Metro Boomin...Uses it. :heh:But, I go on producer message boards like FutureProducers and I see the sentiment has shifted and FL doesn't get as much flack as it use too...guess we all see it for what it really is now. :salute:

@TEKBEATZ As a hardware user...What are your thoughts on FL Studio?

It's definitely not considered a toy and probably the most used DAW especially for young, up and coming producers.

I have it but currently don't use it. I find it easier than most DAWS though. I'm still learning Maschine literally everyday I use it. FL is easier imo but there is still so much deeper and much more detail you can get out of it

I also feel as if Logic is the Macs version of FL studio, very similar. I also have FL studio on Mac though

9th Wonder helped but I think it started to get taken more serious when producers like Lex Luger and Boi 1da got popular.

I been a member on FP since 2004 sad to see how far the site fell off.

It's crazy how the game changed. I was using FL in 2002. In 2005 I was shopping beats and people were shytting on FL but hearing my beats like "That don't sound like a Fruity Loops beat. :ohhh:"

Now it's a standard. All FL Studio producers are not created equal tho. some people just use presets and arpeggio makers, others actually still get in there and play keys, chop samples, etc.

I think the stigma around FL Studio is just because it's the most widely used program, so a lot of amateurs who use nothing but the shytty presets sully its name.

I've been using FL since FL 5, but 11 is my favorite. I only use 12 if it's my only option.

What?

I think many people would disagree.

FL Studio: mainly used to make and arrange beats

Mac: all-in-one solution to make beats, record vocals in, mix down in used by the top of the top in the industry to create records - also boasts plugins from the leading hardware companies for a seriously professional sound (if the engineer's game is tight)

So the beat for N*ggas in Paris was made in FL Studio..

but then the tracks were individually recorded as audio in Logic (or ProTools) and then Kanye and Jay-Z recorded their vocals in that software and it got mixed either in the software or on the SSL mixing console.

This idea that that could all be done in FL Studio is ludicrous. It's great for making beats though and the producers mentioned did a great job to take it to the next level (except 9th Wonder. 1 snare wonder) but Logic is way more versatile.

Not reading all of this

I was talking about the interface. To me it was similar to FL... It still is similar to FL to me. I literally had no issue transferring from FL to Logic when I used them both

What's the difference between 11 and 12 ?

Is the workflow better or something

12 is the most unfamiliar. The gap between versions 10 and 11 is closer than the gap between 11 and 12. For instance adding plugins in FL studio 12 is a complete pain.
