The whole argument the Knicks need more depth ignores the fact that Thibs coaches worst the larger his rotation. A 8 man rotation is his sweet spot, and he is happy with 6. We seen him damn near refuse to play a 10 player rotation and begrudgingly play a 9 man rotation.
Thibs needs to address the damn perimeter defense. Without Mitch waiting in the cut, teams are having their way & carving us up. I know we had plenty of struggle games last season, but to me the perimeter defense seems worst than last year & that was with Grimes/Donte playing the 2

Yeah but IHart and Mitch was the centers too. I know we are stuck in a holding pattern waiting for Mitch.

The real question is do they package Precious and second rounders for something. A lot of teams want to make changes right now and it looks like it might be a buyers market

They have to upgrade from Precious and Payne. Can’t keep trotting them out there no longer.

The last line of defense wasn't a weak link last season. If someone got beat, more times than not, they had a 7 footer behind them with great defensive instincts to clean shyt up.

If you want to get drunk quick during the next game, take a shot every time an opponent gets downhill or in the paint, and KAT tries to contest the shot with telepathy rather than putting a hand up.

I don’t think they are the problem. They are 7th or 8th guys and Thibs plays them as such. They are also paid like they are those level of role players. I don’t know who the Knicks could get for $8 mil that could produce as well as the two of them in spot minutes. However, if I had to make a random guess I would say keep an eye on Siddiq Bey. Villanova kid, makes about 8 mil on a 3 year deal, and the Knicks still have that restricted 1st rounder from the wizards.

It's what infuriates me. Once that perimeter is broken, teams are getting what they want whether it's paint points or open 3's. I keep saying it but it makes me angry the FO chose not to draft Ryan Dunn who even as a rookie, has shown better defense than Bridges. Even if Bridges shots aren't falling, if he's locking his man down on the perimeter, that evens itself out almost & can turn into transition points off turnovers. He's playing horrific on both ends lately

This is a good and underrated point. He clearly has limitations and difficulty coaching beyond a 8 or 9 player rotation. He probably knows this too.

At da end of da day, our season comes down to Mitchell robinson and his health. He solves our size, depth, and bench issues. There's a few teams in da east we cant beat in a 7 game series without him.

He's just very unreliable
