Then on top of all that a lot of those promoters don't utilize Black talent correctly we dominate in most sports we participate in but pro wrestling pushes nothing but lily White boys. There has been a true Black champ since Ron Simmons 30 years ago. I don't count that little run Kofi had because the universal title is really their flagship belt now. I don't count the Rock either because he identifies more with his Samoan heritage and doesn't even really look like a Black guy if you didn't know who his father was.

I always wanted to do this. However, I've been putting it off. I'm 6'3 and 290, but I'm going to shed 50 pounds. There's this local wrestling school in my area in Norfolk and it won't get in the way of my studies. Going for a career in the healthcare field. Anyway, wish me luck.

I trained for a year of Pro Wrestling during college (in between ending my collegiate wrestling career and before I got into MMA/BJJ). I'll tell you right now, be careful learning your bumps. I've seen people give themselves concussions simply from not getting the bumps right. It'll hurt and be painful but it gives you great appreciation to the wrestlers and their craft.
