I had a homey who used to deal with them amigos. He said they wanna know where you moms and family stay if they even meet you. He got caught some time ago and did 5 and is out now but don't think you can just walk away from the cartel after you feel you've made enough, it don't work like that.

damn wild story and def not easy as just walking away. The other issue is the money, even if you're making a million plus a month in profit it's hard to wash that kind of money clean. Might be able to live off straight cash in a stash house for a while but the trail alone will get the IRS on you and your fam if you're spending lavishly with no reported income.

if one were to choose to "leave" ...he is also taking a profitable stream of revenue from that particular clique or cartel

along with the fact that a vast market share is LOST as well , if that dealer was "servicing" a certain region or area....

He actually has a chance because all of his evidence was circumstantial and the prosecutor on his case recently got knocked for selling ecstasy.
