The story is somewhat confusing.. he had her download Cashapp using his info.

Then he pretended to be someone from Cashapp threatening to report her to have her visa taken away??? Why would a Cashapp representative threaten anyone??? They would be at risk of losing their job lol.

Please teach your children how to spot scams on the internet and in the real world.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Whatever he gets is what he deserves :camby:

if she had told anyone she knew about the situation they would have called his bluff immediately.

No reason why a cashapp agent would reach out to you on a non-Cashapp company phone number. Have them prove who they say they are.

Tough lesson to learn smh.

I know but idc.

There were too many red flags going on. Like I said in another post, if she had let any of her friends or family know they would have called the “cashapp’s agent” bluff.

You gotta empower your kids with street smarts so they can protect themselves in the real world. You gotta know how to move out here.

As a kid when I played online games I’d have people pretend to be around my age. Common sense told me it was a grown ass adult pretending to be a kid and I told them to get the fukk outta here.

I don’t know what country she came from, but no agent for a major corporation is going to be coming for you like that. That shyt makes no sense.

Foreigners tend to not know all that. Scammers tend to keep running scams even if they get rejected because someone will take the bait eventually. That's why we have a court system.

Nah you cant say that without seeing the text. Maybe he told her not to tell her family. Maybe she told her family after it was all over and they are the ones who called out that bullshyt.

Considering whats considered coercion these days. This is worst than some things ive seen be considered that. Plus cashapp is fairly new,you cant blame foreigners for maybe not knowing how silly that sounds. Either way, like I said im not sure if he actually threatened her into having sex. Or if he just set up a situation where he could rescue her and win her over. The lawyer said they had text where she said she had a good time. But i dont know the context of those text. The initial threat setting up the scenario is what has him in hot water. There has to be some kind of law to protect people who reasonably may not know any better. Yes my empathy might not be the same if an american fell for a similar scheme.
