I wouldn't say that he has the best contract in the game, but maybe that's not too far fetched. The reason being because if you recall, there was a bidding war for Drake before he signed. ALL the majors were interested in signing him, and had made offers. The difference between that and the other CMR Artists (Weezy, Juve, etc.) is that they were home-grown artists signed to Cash Money BEFORE they were stars (and in Weezy's case since he was a child at 11 years old.) Those artists didn't have much leverage nor any professional help, I'm pretty sure Drake had outside representation negotiating on his behalf"Drake has one of the best contracts in the game. Hes not like every single other artist in the history of the label." - drake stan
dont worry. The drake headlines are coming. That cash money train is never late.
yeah at the time I was doing street promotions an Indy label as well as THIER publicist....who introduced me to some publisher who was looking for a strong writer for an industry trade magazine for hip hop Indus trying to network and create buzz
the publisher was well connected in the industry worked for a big time manager before he started his magazine
we was doing good consistent work then it went downhill when a certain Florida based artist decided to not show up for a cover story and photo shoot
the publisher wanted me to do a slanderous hack job article on him
I agreed to do it..cause he was the boss
even though the big homie who introduced me to him felt that wasn't a good idea ....cause in his own words it could dawg relationships and he was right
I found out very quickly how close knit especially the southern rap industry is....
I wound up bumping into that Florida artist during a convention at a award show
fortunately that article never made it to print ...cause we didn't secure enough Ad revenue to stay in business
but I was in demand as a writer and got hired by a blogger as his creative editor
It was HIS intention to write about street cats and the industry. ...which I did agree to do as LONG AS WE HELD THE GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE because on my opinion all these street situations happened cause of Political Expediency..
like the SHOWER POSSE/REAGAN ADMINISTRATION connection or FRANK MATTTHEWS and the CIA
CIA
IT WAS ALL GOOD till he started veering off into Conspiracy territory I.e (illuminati stories)
we parted ways on that...he was paranoid and I don't do sensational journalism
