FSU is not better than LSU or Georgia shyt maybe not South Carolina

1 Alabama (60) 5-0 1500
Bama is far and away the number 1. It's not even close. Watching them play football is like watching the world's strongest man arm wrestle people. It's a gradual, yet overwhelming, defeat for whoever sits down to take them on. If they remain disciplined, there's no reason they shouldn't take it to every opponent that they face for the rest of the year. I think that the LSU game will be good, and if they make it, the SEC Championship. However, I see no competition in the SEC barring a crippling injury or if Saban gets assassinated by the Updyke of Auburn.
2 Oregon 5-0 1430
I really, really, like watching Oregon. I used to hate on the jerseys and the bandwagon love that Oregon always got, but I really do enjoy watching their offense in action. Chip Kelly has a plan for this team and so far, so good. I think that they are built on their speed (obviously) of not only their players but their offense. One day this year, they are going to run into that team that jams them from the get and fukks their day up. Think of a speedy WR lining up against a bulkier, more physical DB, then that DB jamming the WR and the WR running a shyt route and getting out of rhythm. I think that Oregon is susceptible to that happening to them. They live or die by their game-speed and someone is going to fukk that up for them. Could be someone in the Pac12, or it could happen in the postseason. I don't think that they can keep this up every game of the season.
3 Florida State 5-0 1349
It's hard to like anyone from the ACC, but this is one of the more complete, well-rounded teams from the ACC in a long time. They can put up points, the defense isn't shytting the bed. I do think that they'll get in over their heads at some point. The media is obviously ready for FSU to return to the days of dominance. I don't know if FSU is ready to return to the days of dominance. ACC always messes up somewhere, and I think everyone is waiting on that.
4 LSU 5-0 1310
Honestly, I think LSU likes being at #4 . Ride under the radar until CBS or ESPN calls them the #2 to drive views. I don't think that LSU is as good as Bama, or they haven't shown that yet anyway. I do think that they would play Oregon very similar to last year, and I think that they wouldn't be intimidated by someone like FSU.
5 Georgia 5-0 1252
Sure, why not. Tennessee's offense made them look suspect in the 2nd and 3rd quarters on Saturday, but the D ultimately won, sending Bray home with THREE straight turnovers at the end of the game when he could have won it. I don't think that UGA will play teams like UT anymore that have unavoidable problems on defense (at one point UGA couldn't NOT score), so they need to make sure their D is ready to step up for the whole game. I will say that the game on Saturday was an incredibly odd game, and it's hard to judge UGA off of that game alone. I do think that they're better than SCar, but I think Florida is going to beat them.
6 South Carolina 5-0 1152
Hard to rule out the OBC. No gimmicks on this team. They play good (enough) defense and they've got a workhorse at RB. That methodology has won a championship for PLENTY of SEC football teams. I don't see this team being a championship calibre team at the end of November. UGA and Florida have a great chance to beat them. I wouldn't sleep on Tennessee either if I were SCar. South Carolina has a great front 7, but so did UGA and Florida and UT was still able to put up points. I say that to say that SCar can't really sleep walk through the season. Next week, I've got UGA.
7 Kansas State 4-0 1123
How exciting for this team/coach. Outside of BigXII land, no one really knows about these guys. A dark horse at this point. They've got a great defense, but teams like WVU, OkSt, Baylor, and Texas will put up points. If they make it through WVU, they'll have to play two teams looking to score a signature win in OkSt and Baylor. TCU should play a TOUGH game with them after their defense has been tested a few times. Then they finish the year with Texas. At this point, I think that 3/5 of those teams would give KSU a better game than OU did this weekend. Not to take anything away from KSU, but OU isn't the OU that people wanted this year. I think KSU is eating well off of that big OU win, but the WVU game and the whole month of November will ding and dent that armor of theirs.
8 West Virginia 4-0 1066
Geno Smith is a god, but holy shyt they've got to pick it up on defense if they're going to have any sort of shot against the better talent in the BigXII. Yeah it's cool to pass all over the place and eat a Baylor defense alive, but the competition in the BigXII is used to this. They're not fighting crocodiles on land or anything. This is very comfortable to a lot of these teams and they've recruited/planned for that kind of offense. It's fun to watch WVU, but like I said about Oregon, someone is going to knock their pace off and they'll have a shyt game for it.
9 Notre Dame 4-0 1043
What a stiff team. They already topped some good teams in the BigTen. They have to make it through some lower/mid level ACC teams (Miami, BC, WF) and some Pac12 traditional powers (Stanford, USC). Their schedule really favors them sans the Oklahoma game. By the time that they travel to USC the Trojans might be thin with injuries because outside of their starters, they're still a light team considering their talent top to bottom. OU isn't the OU that people thought they'd see this year, a very beatable team. Their only other away game is BC, which shouldn't be too tough. The rest of their home games should be competitive, but the games are at home. One of the three of OU, Stanford, or USC should hand ND a loss, but again, these aren't the best versions of those teams that ND could have met. No doubt they need their offense to gel a little more against top talent, but I'm still impressed with what they've done. Especially on defense.
10 Florida 4-0 937
They've gotten better with every game. Their defense is playing up to their billing (they recruited top talent EVERYWHERE with that wonder class they had in Meyer's last year). I've been especially impressed with Driskel, and I truly do think that you can see his improvements almost on a quarter-by-quarter basis. It's really something to watch these guys start to get their feet under them. I think that the SEC is starting to realize what kind of beast that the Florida Gators really are this year. They're not going to finesse you all over the field Meyer-style, but they have a VERY talented defense, and a good run game. Their QB can close games (now) and the team is starting to rally behind him. Good defense + good running game + respected QB who can close games = SUCCESS EVERY TIME. I like them better than UGA or SCar and I think that they're underrated. They'll probably lose to LSU too, which will stick them further under the radar. Don't sleep on Florida, they're going to ruin UGA's season.
11 Texas 4-0 932
They've won the games. I'll say this though, their D is going to get swiss-cheesed up by WVU if they don't wake the fukk up. Oklahoma is going to give them their A-game as well. Further down the road they'll have to play ball against 2 teams that can play defense as well, so they won't be able to just outscore the threat. Texas is GOOD, but they've got a lot to prove. I think they drop 1 in the next two weeks, I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop both, and I think they're a 9 win team at this point. They're far from complete.
12 Ohio State 5-0 793
They can run, they've got a good enough defense to compete in the BigTen and Miller knows how to not completely fukk away a game. I think that they can beat Nebraska (the game is at home, a huge +), and coast to 10 wins before they play Wisky and Michigan. It's hard to say that Meyer and OSU aren't deserving of this spot. Urban Meyer's run of glory is made stronger by the lack of competition in the BigTen. That conference is all over the place. I do think that the ranking is justified though. I think that they're a 10 win team.
13 USC 3-1 703
Like I've said, I don't think that this team is very deep and complete top-to-bottom. They have great starters, but they aren't rotating beasts every play. The offense isn't as high-powered as everyone thought and the defense isn't fitting the bill. I do think that the defense is getting stronger/stiffer. I still don't see that complete offense that was supposed to throttle everyone that they played.
14 Oregon State 3-0 647
They can't pass their way to victory all year. Starting with the Utah game they'll start playing better talent week in and week out. I know they haven't lost a game yet, but I don't think that they would compete with some of these teams listed below them. I'd put them somewhere around 22 or 23.
15 Clemson 4-1 608
Great offense, ehhh defense. Sounds like Clemson. I think that SCar would beat them if they played tomorrow. I think that VT could give them trouble too. Someone like Maryland, who consistently plays like shyt against shyt teams but shows good teams up could also come out swinging. I do think that Clemson will continue to overwhelm teams in the ACC with good offense. However, it's still the ACC and that conference is ridiculous when it comes to predicting a good team to finish correctly.
15 TCU 4-0 608
It's easy to play great defense against bad teams. These guys face a GAUNTLET in the second half of the year. Oct 13 Baylor, Oct 27 OkSt, Nov 3 WVU, Nov 10 KSU, Nov 22 Texas, Dec 1 OU. They'll lose 3/6 of those and could drop as many as 5. They weren't able to run against sub-par defense and their passing offense isn't up there with some of the BigXII elite. I know that they've done more with less traditionally, but I think they're missing some pieces on offense.
17 Oklahoma 2-1 581
They've still got the talent on D and weapons on offense to remain competitive. They need to get it together against TTU and they can still run some of these teams on their schedule off the field. I think everyone figured out who they were after the KSU game, but I still think they're going to be near the top of the BigXII once the dust settles.
18 Stanford 3-1 509
Who didn't see this coming? They were way overrated because the rankings are pretty much "move up until you lose" musical chairs. Sound defense but the offense is not still 2011. The D will keep the in games and the offense won't allow them to pull away. If they win or lose, it will be like the Washington and USC games. One possession W/L (except against Oregon).
19 Louisville 5-0 404
They've played who? They've won by what? I'm not saying that they're bad, but I don't think they'd compete with the rest of the teams ranked in the teens. I think teams like Mississippi State, Nebraska, and Washington would put them in their place too. God help this team if they keep on beating Big East competition by 3-6 points and make it to a respectable bowl against someone they don't want to see.
20 Mississippi State 4-0 306
Underrated. Could finish with 9 wins. 8 at the worst. I don't see them competing with Bama, but they should win Tennessee and could win A&M. LSU is a loss as well, but after they beat Auburn (handily) they've only got to separate themselves from Arkansas and Ole Miss. That isn't a tough task in 2012.
21 Nebraska 4-1 240
If they beat OSU they could still resurrect this season and finish with a respectable record/bowl. Good offense, good QB, where's the D?
22 Rutgers 4-0 160
I really do hate the Big East. Just look up this schedule. These guys should drop 2-3, but this is a lower level of football.
23 Washington 3-1 159
Good to see Sark and Washington maintain some success, but they need some help on offense or they're going to lose to the upper echelon of the Pac12. Oregon is obviously going to roll, could be more Ls on the sched if the offense remains absent.
24 Northwestern 5-0 143
Won't be ranked after this week.
25 UCLA 4-1 122
They should continue to climb the ranks. They're not a bad team, they're just not ready to dominate every week. Could win 9, should win 8.
Dropped from rankings:
Michigan State 20
What a disappointment.
Boise State 24
One of those weird years for the Broncos where they beat some mid/lower level talent en route to a huge return next year.
Baylor 25
No defense = complete meltdown in BigXII.
Others receiving votes: Cincinnati 72, Boise State 53, Texas A&M 51, Michigan State 43, Texas Tech 39, Michigan 38, Louisiana Tech 37, Baylor 31, Ohio 30, Arizona State 15, Arizona 4, Miami (FL) 4, Iowa State 3, Tennessee 3
I've never watched an Alabama game in my life but I fail to see how they can be number 1.
I generally hate the south and everything about them but it's a bit odd seeing them as number 1. They have no stars, no standout players, yet they're dubbed, 'the fastest team alive' or something.
What am I missing guys?
