I smoked for 10 years after a traumatic life event. Woke up one day and decided to make a change. I quit smoking and drinking, became vegan, started competing in triathlons in my late 30's. I'm just speaking from experience. Life is better without it. You have to fix the problems and not mask them, and diet is key.

OP I know people like that & they don’t smoke weed.
They coulda been like this regardless.

also for me I’ve been smoking for over 15yrs
I go to the gym every morning and am extremely successful in life.
I hold a senior mgmt position for a a large tech company.
Okay and? That doesn't mean you can't be addicted to weed :mjlol:

I think so too but there’s not extreme withdrawal symptoms like with other addictive drugs. I just recently stopped cold turkey 2 weeks ago after smoking like everyday for a couple years straight and feel pretty good tbh. I feel like I have new lungs almost.

More of the addiction to the psychological "comfort" that weed affords you

I dunno breh

When I was smoking I’d get irritated if I couldn’t connect with any of my weed men or find any in the street

But I quit cold turkey last year and it was one of the easiest things to quit.

You smoke before or after the gym? I smoke after and it’s the most calming thing ever for my muscles

Weed is addictive.

but there are such things as high functioning addicts. Sounds like the ones in OP aren’t and are just bumming it.

not physically just mentally

you are not a slave to a drug like with other chemicals just a slave to habit. hence why it's not taken seriously. being addicted to weed amounts to having a weak mentality and a lot of time to waste. more of a failure of character than anything. you won't die if you don't get a fix just get agitated for some days n move past it. people die from withdrawal with other drugs. weed addiction will never be regarded in the same light as hard drug use.

lazy people will always have excuses.

Havent messed with weed in almost a month. :yeshrug: might not even go back because i dont like how much money i was wasting on it and just dont feel like being bothered with it anymore. :yeshrug: it was a cool experience but i dont think i can go all in and be a full time weedhead/stoner. Practicing soberty actually seems more exciting because its challenging and harder especially with the peer and societial pressures pushing drugs and alcohol. I havent drank since april.

Truth be told, my mom and watching doggie diamonds, sean gunby, gully tv and karim blizz johnson on youtube helped motivate me to give that shyt up. All that "custy" talk made me look at myself like "wtf am i doing?". Nothing wrong with weed but in my case, i was a sober head that would mess with that weed every now and then but during the pandemic, i went ot out of fear to keep it a buck. I did enough weed to know how i am when im on it and after awhile, shyt made no difference. Same issues, same troubles, nothing changed. Might as well sober up and challenge myself to get into different things like yoga, strength, martial arts or whatever or controlling myself better such as not choking the chicken everyday even

Now im challenging myself to go to a shrink which im waiting to hear from them
