As someone who works in tye broadcasting industry I can't stress enough how important it is for Americans to have at least one public funded media company, free of corporate interest, and has no agenda then to inform and uplift the general public. It is important and Trump makes America worse.
There will probably be one, don't be surprised if it's Turning Point USA

I wouldn't concede defeat yet. A few months ago , conservative went to the Supreme Court and won a decision that to reel in the administrative state. Meaning that agencies cannot issue punishment but those findings have to get a court hearing.

You have to become the resistance. Become the media. Become your community. Organize. Operate on a local level, and branch out.

If it does go, it will then most likely depend on public tv on a state by state basis, and you already know which states are likelier than others.

Bad guys win because the good guys play by the rules
Meh. I used to think so, but it's because the Dems have the same corporate interests as Republicans, and yes are also tied to a bygone political environment. Let me be VERY CLEAR. Though I despise the Dem establishment, the ONLY choice during the election was to vote Dem for harm reduction. However, Dems understand that our healthcare system is garbage. They know that the minimum wage not being raised in over a decade is a disgrace. Etc. However, they have donors to consider.

Example: Klyburn takes the most money from the pharmaceutical industry. How much do you think he's for universal healthcare? Oh, and would you look at that, he endorsed Biden just in time for the SC primary. What did the guy who had gained momentum as the front runner at the time support?

Example 2: The Dems talked about gee, sorry the damn Parliamentarian makes it so we can't raise the minimum wage. What can we do? Meanwhile, Republicans would fire the Parliamentarian in a second to pass an agenda they really wanted to.

Example 3: Pelosi spoke with disdain that a reporter would DARE ask her about ending stock trading by government reps.

Example 4: The Dems talk about the threat to Democracy (true), which means that all the stops need to be pulled out to do stop it. Yet Biden didn't fire the feckless Garland after it became clear he was dragging his feet on the most important prosecution in US history. The DOJ wasted its time on low level offenders of J6 (all of whom have now been pardoned so was a gigantic waste of time) as opposed to the LEADERS. Biden on some "I won't want to politicize the DOJ" shyt when desperate times call for desperate measures and NOT doing so is ALSO political.

I could go on but the Dems are hampered by their allegiance to capital, since they are a center right party NOT a left leaning one. Because they put on Kente cloth, or say they're for LGBTQ rights doesn't change their fiscal positions.

If Dems were about it they wouldn't keep foisting these corporate candidates on the public - Hillary, Biden, Kamala. They are 1-3 against a moronic game show host. Instead, they would have matched Trump's faux populism with real substantive populism. Instead they want to barely win their way as opposed to decisive victories. Imagine of the whole party had thrown their support behind Bernie - Obama, Biden, Hillary etc. in a united front. Instead, they sabotaged him at every turn.

If the Dems were serious about winning, they would adopt this basic platform:

Minimum wage tied to inflation
Universal healthcare
Federal jobs program
Major housing subsidies
Legalize weed

And from the top down, on every news program they would say that's their goal and they won't stop until it's implemented. Ignore Republican BS and say that's their goal for the American people. It's simple, it speaks to the substantive change needed and if every Dem got on code with no distractions it would resonate with the American public. They can't because of their corporate interests.

Again, not voting for Kamala makes you a fool because it's possible for one party to be bad, and the other immeasurably worse which is something both siders can't grasp, but the Dem party needs to rebuild from the top down. When people's material needs aren't being met, education is defunded and people don't see either party offering policies they feel will change their lives, they sink into apathy or turn to the strong man to "fix" things. It's wrong, it's short sighted but this is how fascism rises. Only a strong counter will combat that, and the Dems despite AGAIN being far better than the Republicans who will cause harm that will last for decades, don't offer that.

Excellent post.

The one good thing about what he's doing is that he's shattering democrat excuses in real time and proving that if the executive wanted to make substantial changes he can. Donald Trump has shown what happens when a president has a vision for the future and will accept no excuses for executing that vision. THAT is what makes people support him. It's a repellant and backwards looking vision, but it's a vision none the less.

They told us Biden was working tirelessly for a ceasefire but Trump shows up and gets a ceasefire before he's even in office because he was willing to put actual pressure on Israel.

If it's possible for a president to do all this shyt, it's possible for a president to reverse it all and the electorate won't take any excuses. The next candidate must show up with no opposition from within the party if the public is responding well to him. Mexico showed everyone it's possible. They had their version of Bernie (AMLO) who was so popular he won a decisive victory. His protege, a Jewish woman won in a blowout. How did this happen in a country that hasn't had a female president and is overwhelmingly catholic?

She gave the poor and working class a vision for the future and communicated with them daily on YouTube and social media instead of through billionaire owned media that has a financial incentive in misrepresenting and giving bad faith arguments when it comes to progressive candidates. The united health and Gaza situation opened a lot of people's eyes to just how out of touch the media is.

What happened in Mexico can happen now. If Bernie is healthy enough to take his 3rd and final swing at this, and democrats get out of his fukking way this country has a chance. He's already doing regular posts on YouTube and live streams. He understands this.
