Vegas really came in and took this clown league by throat. This could easily be their second cup. Beating the other leagues into this market and securing the fanbase might be one of the only things they've done right.
The NHL expansion to vegas and seattle were good moves. They made a strong impression on vegas locals by being the first professional sports league in the vegas market and as a result secured a loyal and growing fanbase there. And in seattle, the seattle kraken is the winter to spring team there instead of a NBA team - hockey basically filled the void the supersonics have left.

Hockey has it right with engraving the names of the players on the cup. You are remembered forever that way, and seen forever. Long after you are gone. Long after you sell any rings, etc. Best trophy in sports
Also the nhl gets it right when it comes to the stanley cup trophy presentation, its a hockey tradition and custom to make sure the players and the coaches hoist the stanley cup first. It just feels right. The players shed blood, sweat and tears to win. They deserve first dibs to glory. In the nba/mlb/nfl, its usually the old ass owner who is the first person to touch the championship trophy first. :scust:

I remember when Rod Brind'Amour basically told Bettman to shut the fukk up and let him hoist the Cup. :russ:

:salute:to the Knights and to Vegas.

Even though I'm #ALLCAPS, I've always messed with the VGK because (1) Vegas is kind of a home away from home away from home for me and (2) they were one of the first NHL teams to speak out about the Jacob Blake incident, and essentially forced the league to postpone playoff games.
