The best team in the regular season this year, the team with the best regular season record in nhl history with the most wins and points(the Boston Bruins )and the central division winner, highly talented defending cup champion Colorado Avalanche both eliminated in their own rink, on the same night, in game sevens.

A second year expansion team, the seattle kraken, eliminates the defending champs and the lowest seeded team in the playoffs this year (the florida panthers)upsets the best top seed team in nhl history. The bruins had 23 more wins and 43 more points than the panthers in the regular season. Its a much bigger upset than the upset of the #1 bucks by the #8 heat in the first round of the nba playoffs this year.

The path to the cup is wide open out there. Two big threats taken out

Path for the dream final of Oilers vs Leafs just got clearer :ohlawd:

Lundqvist has been a great addition for the TNT, really breaks down the mindset and technical aspects of goaltending. He really explained an issue of modern goaltending. Too much reliance on butterfly/reverse VH, where goalies go down too early and exposes the upper half of the net. I think the standup/hybrid style needs to return as shooters are too good now.

Hoops and hockey both had outstanding round 1s..i gotta give it to hockey so far between the two. This weekend was a GOAT sports weekend and without any football thats awesome

Yup I mean in the nba I don't think it has ever happened where a number 1, number 2 and number 3 seed were all knocked out in the first round. And for hockey Kraken beating the defending champs, bruins going down. Even the oilers they were down 3-0 down 2-1 if the kings never played that stupid 1-3-1 they would have been up 3-1 and prob would have won

Yeah I saw Lundqvist on TV for the first time yesterday (I would prefer to watch Canadian broadcasts if possible) and he was good. Especially compared to Paul Bissonnette who I personally can't stand.

Welfare franchise. Southern joke clown team. The panthers, hurricanes and coyotes are still alive because legitimate big market teams like the Maple Leafs are giving them their surplus revenues/money. We are giving Florida some of our leftover money just to make sure they don’t fold or relocate :mjlol:

Even if they succeed to prevent Ontario folks from getting tickets in Sunrise for the panthers games, they will still likely fail because there are so many Canadian snowbirds and transplants living in the state of Florida. :mjlol: So the panthers arena will still be full of Leafs fans cheering loud and hard for the blue and white. At most, I would estimate that only 50-60% of the crowd in Sunrise, Florida for games 3-4-6 will be Panthers fans.

There are still Canadian snowbirds and expats that live in Florida, so that won't work lol.

Kill one penalty, and then fling the puck directly over the boards. We're shooting ourselves in the foot. We're dominating posession. come on guys
