Isles are going home early if they don’t dramatically improve their special teams play.

To be fair, Alex Lyon has been playing well and is a big reason why they got in down the stretch. But that Bobrovsky contract is a big reason why you shouldn’t pay goalies big money.

Islanders looked more comfortable offensively down the stretch, and Barzal started to look like himself. Game 2 should be interesting if the Islanders can build on that.
Both these teams are mid. Horvat's looking very ordinary away from Vancouver's power play and top line talent.I picked the Islanders to upset Carolina.

I think Carolina needs to switch up their organizational philosophy a little. They refuse to pay for talent past a certain age, like late 20s, so almost all their key guys are 28 and under. But they don't have an truly elite talent on the roster. They're always great in the regular season but don't have enough juice for the playoffs.
