Didn’t even realize I missed my guy Frank Martin’s fight earlier . I see Derrick James’ training already took effect, Martin looking more like Errol in his stance and the bodywork.

EDIT: Derrick James is going to be remembered as an ATG trainer. Punch mechanics of his fighters is immaculate, body work is crisp and the fundamentals is picture perfect without being robotic/stiff.

Just feel like Errol at his best is the worst stylistic matchup for Danny in the division. Everything Danny struggles with Errol is great at. Danny struggles when you smother his offense and don't give him room to work. Danny struggles when he's gotta fight at a faster tempo and can't take rounds off. Errol will be in his chest all night. Danny will have no choice but to fight fire with fire.

Like you said. If Danny upped his activity vs Thurman and Porter he could have won. But that's just not who Danny is. He was too worried about what was coming back to let his hands go. He never really has a plan B. Danny usually sticks to the script no matter how the fights going.

But Danny is saying all the right things in these interviews. That he's not gonna take it for granted anymore. That he has to stand his ground and force Spence to respect him. So we'll see. Maybe Danny will really turn a corner tonight and show a new dimension to his game. Cause I think the Danny that fought Thurman and Porter is gonna take a beating. But it'll still be a dope fight. That's all I'm hoping for.

You saw the first 6 rds of Swift vs Thurman N thought Swift was worried about what was coming back in return ??

Keith literally said fukk this N took off after getting hit with shyt in the 6th

Porter darting in N out N head butting N smothering effected Swift not Porters punches

Swift doesn’t punch enough cuz he has cement feet N short arms N can’t punch on the move

Swift doesn’t punch enough cuz he waits for punches 3,4,N 5 to counter

Ionno how you watch the nikka who stands in the middle of the ring N punches with you N say he worried about punches coming back at him :dahell:

Honestly BOTH Keith and Danny were worried about getting hit with counter shots that fight. That's why the fight was so underwhelming. Neither of them put their foot on the gas. There was one moment where neither of them threw a punch for like 30 seconds. They literally just stared at eachother in the middle of the ring waiting for the other guy to make a move:pachaha:

Danny even said out of his own mouth that he took those fights for granted and didn't press the issue like he should have. If Danny himself agrees with that perspective not sure what the issue is:yeshrug:....it was obvious that Danny could have stepped on the gas. Thurman could have to but he was already in the lead and didn't really need to. He was ok with cruising along to a decision since he got those early rounds in the bag. The problem was that Danny allowed him to do exactly that. To me the main takeaway from Danny's losses to Keith and Porter was that he simply wasn't active enough. Really nothing else. That's always been his Achilles heel. He allowed both these guys to coast late when he should have been pressing. But Keith got his respect early when he staggered him in the 2nd round. On top of that Danny still claims he won that fight. So he could have been trying to coast to a decision himself.

Either way you look at it. Whether Danny was trying to sneak out a decision or if he was worried about Keith's counter punching. The bottom line is that Danny wasn't active enough. For all of Danny's athletic shortcomings, he could have still won his biggest fights if he simply just threw more punches. And it won't be any different tonight.

I had the sound muted, is Burley Brooks under Spence?

Edit: nevermind just remembered Brooks is the one who spoke on how Spence looked in sparring.
