Is the city (the brehs in the real New Orleans, not the yuppies gentrifying it) accepting and excited for the Pelicans?

I was down there for the Bayou Classic a few weeks ago, and that big ass mural of Zion near the Smoothie King center was dope as fukk. They should have had one of the Pelican players on the digital board outside of the arena instead of Drew Brees though. Promote the NBA players on their own building instead of the NFL QB who plays next door

It's drew town until Zion touches the court
The problem is nobody wants to Get behind a product that is not competitive the saints are cardiac arrest status but the games are better and they win. Plus you never know who gone step on the court with red eyes and his scramble brain roster management

I felt like letting go Julius Randle, Mirotic, and AD was the catch 22 situation that truly burned us.

Our PF was bolstered by two rookies.

It's obvious we should never pay that ridiculous Randle price tag, but starting the season with 2 rookie PF was completely asinine. I don't understand why Griffin bought into Alvin's small ball roster to such a dangerous degree that they didn't see the size problem that they created.

We really did a horrible job filling their absent at PF. We came in no real depth at PF and day one. It burned us, badly.

Start the season with two rookie PF was such a bad move in hindsight. Yet, we are overloaded with mediocre guards. We should moved some of them for a good PF.

But Gentry probably let him rot on the bench too.

The city WAS hype and then Zion got injured and the Pelicans tried to be hush hush about it and hoped that the team would still be exciting and winning games while being vague about his potential return. Well, the team sucks, is not even exciting to watch, the fans are tired of Gentry, and no one knows when Zion will be back. So after the franchise's best offseason ever, they squabbled it through their own incompetence yet again and through the always guaranteed bad luck we get (Zion getting hurt).

Team is pretty much irrelevant in the city yet again, except to the diehards. It's why I say, Zion IS the franchise. When he comes back, the excitement will drum up again, but we can only pray he comes back as the same force he was in college and preseason, cuz if he comes back and looks half assed, it will be code red for this team.

It’s Drew’s town, and the saints are good, pelicans still need a good push to get the city really behind them, don’t get it twisted, they follow, but it’s saints Season and a saints town
