What makes Kanye a musical genius?

I'll wait. Let me know

Genius is a real overused word...Ye was just an artist who made fire beats and albums. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Looking back at it everyone was weary about Kanye.
A lot of people were like who does this cornball pink polo wearing arrogant Oreo ass nikka think he is

Everyone thought he was a lame back then and didn't think he belonged in hip hop.

We should have never accepted his bytch ass

:dame:
Everyone was group thinking. Kanye might be a c00n but he broke the mold of the rap thug era. He brought back a resurgence of regular nikka rap. rap "culture" is immature and tends to like thriving in extremes like there is no room variety. All that happened is that squares who would have had to adapt street persona alter egos in prior era's could now be more of "themselves" The Big Seans, Cole, Kendrick etc type cats. These types of rappers got squeezed out of the mainstream in the 90's as most people adopted larger than life personas to fit in.

Kanye had to happen just like these fruity pebble rappers had to happen due to rap always playing into extremes, it's just the way the pendulum swings.
