The Wire didn't get the acclaim and the respect it truly deserved until about Season 3 and the space between 3 and 4. Ratings stayed low throughout though. So the audience really only discovered it after it was cancelled/not renewed.
The Shield > Breaking Bad
I guess Breaking Bad is better if you hate cop shows and would rather watch a music video with people searching a house for a cigarette
Breaking Bad ripped a tonne off The Shield.

Game of Thrones is by far the best thing on TV right now.I feel lucky to witness such great TV. Breaking Bad is in my top 5 tho. Im stuck on Season 2 of The Wire and i can't get myself to finish it. This whole storyline on the docks is not interesting to me at all.
I've seen athem all. So what's your point?its obvious u watched like one ep

Learn to read.crazy if you think that's what the show is about

The thing that makes breaking bad so good is the show doesn't allow characters to operate without consequences, there's little filler and the story feels very realistic. It's the same thing that made the wire great. Both shows are grounded in a sense of reality while being fictitious and escapism.
Loved 24 but there were times when I rolled my eyes because they kept going back tot he well to drag a plot out, force a love story, fake a reason for another season. Breaking Bad, Boardwalk, Game of Thrones, Wire all respect our time as viewers and limited the bull crap. They treat us as intelligent viewers and challenge us with sharp writing, acting and story telling.
