You're focusing on their mothers. We're focusing on THEM. Young black boys who will hopefully grow into responsible black men with careers and healthy families. Who won't be like their absentee fathers.
The baby mamas are raising them. Unless you are going to go in and play step
daddy, you won’t make a dent. There are tons of mentor programs out there anyway, yet the community still keeps repeating the same dysfunctional cycle for the last 50 years. If you choose to mentor, I wish you and others the best of luck. Hopefully you all will prove me wrong. But I sincerely doubt it, friend.
