Don't confuse enthusiasm and concern for actual X's and O's breh. Nick Van Exel and the rest of the team shytted on Magic and tuned him out in like his second week as head coach of the Lakers. Magic had to man up and gracefully bow out after that. shyt James Worthy spits more game knowledge than Magic ever will or ever has and him as a head coach would probably be a joke too

Magic never really wanted to be a coach in the first place, he was just doing that shyt as a favor to Buss. I'd imagine that if he became coach any time in the future (which I 99% doubt he will) that he'd be invested into it this time.
