You live in new york city nikka. Central park isnt the wilderness you stupid mutha fukkuh :russ: Sleeping in Central Park isnt camping, you were homless you fukkin bum. You should appreciate your father for telling you those lies.

NY is not far from great upstate wilderness and excellent camping areas- only 2 hours or so and you're in the middle of nowhere, with bears, mountain lions, etc.

The only wild beasts you've experienced are the fat, arched-eyebrow, hairy-lipped broads who rejected you even after hours of desperate simping.

So now the fool who was talking about water bottles in cars wants to try and step it up? You couldn't even survive college, can barely survive a 9-5 IT job, and live in a Mexican suburb. Pretending to read survival books and googling random videos to post doesn't mean shyt. I've lived through blizzards, droughts, sandstorms, and lions out in rural Africa while you post videos of yourself talking to dead rats in your basement apt. on youtube.

And you're from Boston. I don't care if you spent a year or two in the gay capital of America trying to figure yourself out, or what your grandparents did.

TUH: Peep The Art and Science of Taking to the Woods if you haven't. I don't know if it's still in print, but it's one of the best books I've encountered on the subject. Where There is No Doctor is another good one. IMO A lot of the best info you can find on this subject doesn't come from the bigger, pop books that you find in major bookstore displays.

Yea, thanks for the information damn. Since you're the damn survival expert give nikkas some information besides your journeys traversing and surviving in Antarctica with a toothpick in a wifebeater and cango shorts.

great thread.

if somebody else hasnt already mentioned it already get some books by tom brown on wilderness survival... he covers a wide range of topics.

and learn about plants, herbs, trees and how to use nature to your advantage. every part of a tree can be used for something. every part of a plant or herb can be used for something.

nature can provide you everything from medicine, to food, to shelter if you know what youre doing and what to look for.

I've been brushing up on my orienteering skills by playing DayZ :yeshrug:

among other things, I had to learn how to use an analog watch as a compass

I'll just point out that many of these 'survival techniques' rely on technology like knives and guns

good luck trying to hunt a deer with a homemade spear or bow
