i've given dr. dre the goat title as a hip hop producer time and time again but honestly when you look at ALL the help he's had, it's kinda like how could he be? and how could he not have failed with all the help he's had?

i don't know, bruhs :francis:

dr. dre = ivan drago

That's like saying James Brown isn't a legendary producer because he had:

Maceo
Bootsy Collins
Bobby Byrd
Fred Wesley

^^^ all at his disposal

What you people don't understand is Dr. Dre often used a whole BAND of producers. People who were specializing in each of the elements of the music production

There was always a guy who did bass

Colin Wolfe, Mike Elizondo,

Always a guy who used for drums

Always a guy he used for piano

Many of these people went onto viable careers in their own right - Scott Storch, Mike Elizondo, etc.

When did Erotic-D ever officially work with Dre? He was just a G-funk producer who had a voice that sounded a lot like Dre who worked with DOC on his terrible 2nd album.

I think the real question is who was as successful as dre or even half as successful after working with him

Storch is the closest but he was already legit with the roots

Yeah but no one really knew he did shyt for the Roots. After he left Aftermath and it was "this is the guy that worked on Still Dre / 2001" he put out some pretty good productions. He definitely parlayed his skill and experience from Aftermath to make himself a super producer for that period in the 2000s.
