We must be taught not to hate, not the reverse.

Yes I know, but this interesting study shows that we must teach a child not to hate, when originally we have assumed that babies must be taught how to hate.Every child is born innocent and ignorant. thats why they say ignorance is bliss, they were referring to babies.
Honestly, and I'm speaking specifically to my Black Communities...
We, especially WE, must be taught not to hate ourselves first. That should be the new mission statement. If we can instill the values of loving ourselves, we won't be killing each other, we won't be glamorizing all of that self hate bs(I'm including the glorification of Black on Black violence).
We'd be able to gloat about how many people are on your team instead of gloating about how many haters we have.
At that point, we'd become Kings & Queens again.

But they also chose the dolls which were like them, which says a lot about how we need to raise our children to not hate those different from them.

but I did see some flaws in the study
ive been doing that with my little girl
my house is full of "black" fine arts paintings, sculptures.
we tell her that she is beautiful.
those white blue eyed blonde haired princesses/ girls arent the only ones who go out on so called adventures
and most importantly she will NOT i repeat NOT get any blue/ brown eyed white dolls

I saw some variables that should be considered & may throw off the study. Most of the choices were on the right side of the baby....most people are right handed. The 'other' or grey stuffed animal was made to choose something that was different...while the orange animal picked the same crackers & was also on the right side of the baby.
I would like to see if they babies would choose the gray animal if it picked the same crackers as the baby...while being positioned on the right as well.
these things would make the study more credible IMO.

I have a 3 year old son (4 in May) & a newborn son. I teach my son about feeling confident in himself. His action figures are mostly black, I want the people he sees as heroes & in good positions to look like him.
I ask him, what color is your skin, he says "Brown". I say brown is beautiful right?
My man thing I instill in him,
"Don't walk around like you're better than anyone, but KNOW that no one is better than you."
As he gets older I want to instill in him that you don't look at your fellow black peers as enemies. I teach him he shouldn't have hate for ANYONE but especially not for other black people.
I could keep writing but you get the point. It's important man, I don't want them growing up talking about "fukk these haters" and looking to upload videos of them sneak punching another person.
