lol it going to be a real good season .
The funny thing is, if Carson does play well this year, the first thing Skip is going to do is credit it all to the skill position players around him. So who cares what he says? I don’t know if I’d put the Eagles as the #1 receiving group in the league – Rams and Chiefs have to be up there, at least – but it’s a damn good one. And it’s certainly not overrated.
Obviously we don’t know 100% what’s going to happen when the regular season starts in September. There’s always a possibility that, for whatever reason, the receiving group doesn’t gel and Carson can’t get the most out of them. Or something else could go wrong.
But it’s not like the Eagles are putting all their hopes on rookies who’ve never taken a snap in the NFL. We know what Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, and Nelson Agholor are capable of. We know what Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert are capable of. We know what Jordan Howard (albeit he’s not a pass-catching back) and Darren Sproles are capable of. We know what Carson Wentz is capable of.
So if these players simply play at the level they’ve played at their entire NFL careers so far – and I see no reason to expect that they won’t, given that they’re all healthy and have a great head coach leading them – then I can’t see how the Eagles receiving group isn't at least Top 5.
