That’s great news – Cox, Jackson, and Jernigan make for an already solid interior on the D-Line without adding someone. Now the only real holes on the team are RB and LB, two positions the Eagles don’t even value that highly anyway. There’s no need to force anything because all the important positions have at least one starter.

All kinds of possibilities for the draft tonight and it really just depends on who’s available at #25. Christian Wilkins, Jeffery Simmons, Cody Ford, Marquise Brown, DK Metcalf, Jerry Tillery, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Garrett Bradbury, Nasir Adderley… one of these guys are likely going to be available by the time the Eagles pick.

And if not, then they have the opportunity to trade back for another 2nd and pick up A.J. Brown, Darrell Henderson, Miles Sanders, Jaylon Ferguson, etc. All of these guys have the possibility to transform this team for the better. It’s really exciting because you don’t know who it’s gonna be and you can’t go wrong with any of them.

shyt, imagine if Chris Long doesn't retire (even though it's looking like he will :mjcry:) and we get someone like Wilkins. A D-Line of Long, Sweat, Curry, Graham, and Barnett at the edges and Cox, Jackson, Jernigan, and Wilkins inside? That's the 2017 D-Line all over again. :banderas:

Not mad at Timmy coming back at all

Still hope we use an early pick on a D lineman though

Anybody see that everyone has us taking Hollywood if he's there? I dunno how i feel about that. Obviously a super talented kid, but I'm just not sure I like a wr in the 1st

I feel like Safety and Guard are the biggest needs right now and there will be some good WRs to add as late as poasibly the 5th round

I think it’ll be whoever’s the best player available. If an elite defensive or offensive lineman is available at #25 then Howie definitely takes that person. QB, D-Line, O-Line… that’s Philadelphia’s general priority order.

But if no one is, then I have no problems with Hollywood in the 1st. We saw last year how much the offense depends on having a guy who can burn defenses deep when Mike Wallace went down in Week 2 and the Eagles struggled the move the ball. We also saw how a good receiver can open things up in the Cowboys, when they added Cooper and their offense turned around.

PHI has Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, and Nelson Agholor with only Mack Hollins and Shelton Gibson behind them. Hollins is an unknown and Gibson wasn’t able to get snaps even with the WR corps as depleted as it was. DeSean Jackson is still a great deep threat, but he’s 32-years old and injury prone, you need someone good behind him. The Eagles want to move on from Agholor soon. That just leaves Alshon.

Marquise Brown is a great deep threat option who can also play in the slot, which would give Pederson and Groh flexibility in how they design the offense. If the worst should happen with DJax, you have a starter-quality WR right there behind him, so they’re not stuck with another Wallace situation. And Philadelphia is also free to move Agholor, get rid of the $9.5 he’ll cost (which can be used to help pay Wentz), and maybe get another pick for 2020.

Brown isn’t my first choice at #25, but I wouldn’t hate it. There’ll be talented Guards and Safeties in the 2nd round, too.
