The wrestlers themselves are marks. They dont get why people dont like the show. "I had a three commercial match with 12 false finishes, why are they complaining!"

No characters, no story. I havent watched shyt in years. Nobody really gives a shyt about your matches. When the ratings were at their peak it was all about fukkery, nobody went to school the next day talking about how amazing Taka vs Brian Christopher was, they talked bout what wild shyt Austin, Mick, DX, and the Rock did.

Thats why i hate when fans are like "attitude era wasnt that good". Revisionist history from nerds like Meltzer who ruined everything about what made wrestling good. Characters, shyt talking, etc is what made pro wrestling good, not highly rated matches from some balding nerd who hated wrestling when it was at its hottest
.

And that right their is why wrestling fans suck now, cause most of the fanbase that liked the fukkery era stopped watching after like 2009 when they saw that shyt was never coming back.. These fans now were watching wcw and nwa hoping they beat wwe. Ive seen dudes in here talk about rock was overrated or taker isnt top 10 all time, they only care about work rate now, thats also why they all hate HHH, fans of tha attitude era never hated HHH only these cornballs on here that want to see every indy darling go undefeated and win all titles.

Like that clown peter rosenburg, who admits he wasnt watching during the attitude era, im sorry but you are not qualified to talk about wrestiling if you missed the BEST amd most succesful time in the industry

This was such a great post until the part about HHH. That was 100% false. People thought he was a great heel back then, but hated how much he was hogging up segments, especially his 20 minute opening promos (like Charlotte would eventually start doing on Raw). There was a Smackdown episode in late 99 or early 00 that featured the “Triple H Challenge” where he wrestled like 5 matches :dead::dead: I won’t front one bit about the entertainment aspect, but when he eventually won, it was like “”:beli:

Even though I despise the Attitude Era because I prefer the Ruthless Aggression era and I'm a WCW mark, but the fact that the OGs knew ring psychology made the product amazing. Even the dawn of Indie wrestling had propelling storytelling and a reasonable workrate beyond no selling spot monkey bullshyt. This whole mentality with wrestlers nowadays puzzle the hell out of me. Like they proud of getting dikked by the bookers and promoters, instead of letting them know what's up. Imagine if Stone Cold allowed Vince to shyt on him with the Ringmaster gimmick. Imagine if The Rock embraced the "Die Rocky Die" chants, instead of proving the naysayers wrong. This is why wrestling will continue to be a niche product and it will never go back to the money making days because folks are complacent. There's no sense of self worth when the contract is signed. Hell, even the indies are pretty much a practice run for the next WWE superstar.

Folks like Woods are the reason why #nowatchgang is affiliated and why there's no joy in the product anymore. Why should I give a damn when wrestlers don't give a damn about the direction the industry is going.

The problem with all of these WWE wrestlers who can't take criticism well is that they fail to understand that they are part of a TV show and currently that TV show is not very well made.
Its like a cast member of The Walking Dead insulting fans who are critical of the show because those fans should be so grateful that they get to see zombies on TV and should understand how hard the actors work. Get the fukk out of here with that bullshyt.
I'm saying. Yet when they aren't happy with their creative, the fans are the first ones they go crying to in an effort to drum up support.

Fan entitlement is a thing, but not in the way most creatives these days talk about it. Fans running up to you at 4 am in an airport or hotel and demanding you sign their cup with no respect to you as a person is entitlement. Fans who think the show can only be good if it follows their fantasy booking ideas is entitlement. Fans going on twitter and talking wild about wrestlers when they don't respond to them is entitlement.

Fans critcizing the show because they don't like it is not entitlement. It's....fans being fans. Everyone, from the highest paid actors in Hollywood to your average Youtuber with a couple thousand subs, has to deal with fan criticism. Is that criticism always insightful or fair? fukk no. Fan communities are full of people that confuse knowing a little more than nothing with knowing a lot. That's been true since the dawn of the internet.

That said, people are still free to form opinions on the media they consume. The tribalism among wrestlers (and artists and youtubers and actors and whoever else) where no one is supposed to say anything bad about them and every criticism is immediately dismissed as entitled whining is tiresome. Like Woods is mad people say Takeovers are better than the main roster show. How is that our fault? People watch both and form an opinion, and it's not like people don't give the main roster their props when they put on a good show. I bet you he doesn't mind all the people saying Smackdown is better than Raw or people calling the New Day vs Usos matches MOTN. I mean, he should, since it's all the same show right? Liking one part more than the others is being entitled.:sas2:

Fans can be stupid as hell, but these wrestlers cannot take critcism to save their lives. Honestly, it's part of why Vince gets away with pushing them around. He's either got them brainwashed or knows they don't have the stones to challenge him in anyway.

OP is also the same guy who wanted people to beat up Shawn Michaels backstage in the 90s even though he was the most protected guy on the roster and was known to sabotage pushes. :skip:

I mean all those guys are great in ring as well have all have classic matches, what goes on inside the square circle is extremely important too and honestly the in ring product has sucked IMO since about 2015 (why I stopped) storylines of course are awful and all those other critics, but the wrestling is terrible too

When Seth Rollins is one of your best workers, there is an issue

I'm so tired of him talking about how much bumps hurt. Nobody forced you to become a wrestler. True entitlement is wanting us to shut up about the quality of the show because YOU decided to not a get a regular career and become a wrestler.
