it's not something i can judge without watching it a second time..

but nothing besides maybe friday night lights hooked me so quick and SO BAD as lost :ahh:

i went into it thinking it was a miniseries though.. so i thought i was gonna get my answers real quick :snoop:

i think it was like 6-8 episodes in and i caught up the first night :feedme:

it kinda went all over the place in the later seasons.. but the first few seasons is some of the best tv i've ever watched.

it never lost its ability to have me :gladbron: while watching.. matter of fact, lost did that shyt the best. it's just that pretty much EVERY explanation for every single one of those moments was a disappointment :ld:

but the highs :ohlawd:

So they were dead the entire time but they created this place for each other when they were dead the entire time.
:snoop: NO!!!!!!

That purgatory is supposed to take place decades later after the characters all died off. Everything that happened on the Island, happened!! I don't understand why folks who watched the show when it was on don't understand that. Everybody who watched the show after it ended, gets it.

No show before, and I'd argue no show since, captured an audience the way Lost did. The finale was very divisive and I understand the negative views expressed because of it, but I can never hate on Lost because the good/great so outweighed the bad/disappointing aspects. And I'll admit that the "It was always about the characters" excuse was a copout, but it's also true. The island provided mystery and intrigue, but the characters are why I loved that program and tuned in every week. I'll never forget the moment I found out that Locke was paralyzed before he got to the island, or Desmond's introduction, etc.

To be fair "X-Files" was "Lost", before "Lost". At the height of it's popularity it hit 29 million viewers.

I'm talking about more than ratings, tho. X-Files was a phenomenon onto itself, but Lost hit every demographic strongly and was the point of conversation at the water cooler, in the classroom, in the barber shop, at the bar, etc. Lost's highest ratings were around 23 million viewers and this was at a time when DVRing was just becoming popular so that 23 million doesn't really reflect how many people were really watching. Plus, to put it in perspective, NCIS is the most watched TV show right now but a show like Game of Thrones easily has a larger presence in pop culture and warrants a lot more conversation amongst the public.

After all of that, purgatory

Lazy ass writers

only the off island stuff in the last season was purgatory...everything on the island during that season happened....and everything that happened in the seasons before that happened....

I hate having to explain this to ppl....it's not rocket science...

Charlie and Claire :wow:

Call me a sap, but I was :to: when they were reunited at the finale. Best part of the episode imo.

:ohhh: Was "24" as big as "Lost"? I didn't get into either show until a couple years after they ended, but I remember both shows had their final seasons in the same TV season. But "Lost" was getting HUGE buzz, media attention, & hype for the series finale, while the "24" series finale came & went.

Nah, I'd say "24" was far behind both "Lost" and "X-Files" in terms of popularity and cultural impact. There isn't much on the level of those two shows when it comes to that.

TBH 24 had similar viewing figures throught the seasons early to mid teen millions.

:ehh:

24 pretty much started the whole binge TV show era that we have now

Lost the GOAT fukkery show. They've been trying to create dramas like it for years and only the Walking Dead has come close.

Anyone who wasn't entertained by it even if the finale was a letdown is a liar :birdman:

:russ: I don't watch the TWD, but I know the acting & productions values ain't touching "Lost".

:mjlol: Is TWD still shooting on 16mm film?
