"consumerism" = jobs, employment, money, stability, etc... far from overrated, more like underrated.
jobs and employment are the same thing

increases in productivity can accommodate more consumers beyond a certain point (as our current economy has shown) so ultimately, we have been a nation of huge consumers with weak job growth and declining wages. now take some time to think about that.

i think we're having two different discussions.

im saying consumerism when combined with business ownership and employment is a very powerful economic force.

but right now we have the consumerism, without the ownership and employment.

Too bad most of that money is going out of the community to Indian run weave companies, McDonalds, etc. We need to support black businesses, and also non-white businesses that benefit the community like grocery stores.

yeah, when you have to add all that, you are just nitpicking. my point is exactly right because really, your own comment admits that you need ownership and employment. consumerism will follow either way cuz you need to eat and you need medicine. you dont even really have a choice to not consume.

i keep seeing people tout the buying power of black americans and i wonder if these figures arent put out by the ethnic advertising industry to boost their budget proposals in the boardrooms of their prospective clients. it's nonsense in practical terms. if you live in a 1st world economy, even the lowest people will be buying stuff. even if it has to come from an ebt card and money you made selling garbage weed with seeds and stems in it, you are going to be a consumer till you die. the only power you get is to choose between which soap you like the best, and even that may just be the result of the advertising you have been subjected to.

you must control capital or employment. period. forget consumerism.

:wow: i never dropped any crazy amounts most in one night was probably only like $150 , most nights i spent between $20-$60 , but i was at one point going 3-4 nights a week :merchant:

as far as black business go , yea cant think of many besides smaller clubs, bars, old barber shops and some soul food spots

the reason you're talking about clubbing and strip clubs is cause the culture promotes that bullsh1t. someone else ie the jews who control the music industry makes your favorite rappers rap about that crap in the name of "that's what sells". then your favorite artists drop a "hot banga!" and there you go running to the strip clubs to throw away $20-150 you can't afford to spend.

mean white chinese, asian or other cultures who came here promote education in their cultures.

they promote ownership, education and independence while we promote getting ebt cards and buying sh1t to impress ppl you don't know.

black culture is broken.
