I will say it like this: I'm from the hood. I am one of literally two people from around my way in my cohort that went away to college. People always imagine I was slingin crack one day and suddenly awakened and went to school. Truth is: it was never a question. Since I was a small child I always wanted to go and I did what it took at the right times. These kinds if issues are settled well before age 19. Here's another possibility for your nephew: he doesnt want to do anything and just rides the hoop dream cause it's something to say when people ask him about his future.

NBA is the hardest out of all dreams if you ask me. You got to be a certain height and have certain genes to really have a shot at it. In Football you can be 5'9 as long as you got heart and pure dedication there is still a shot
