We failed our children ppl. These HS kids can't even use Roman Numerals properly.

My issue with the youth (and people) these days is not proof reading or checking the facts of your work. I am not trying to say that people have to be perfect, but I'm sure the teen that did that sign wasn't sure if what they wrote was correct. An internet search of 3 seconds could have answered their question, but instead of doing that, they would rather be lazy and look stupid.
Well, it's a simple counting system. Do we use it in American society now? Yes. Why? I don't know. Super Bowl 14 is much easier to figure out than Super Bowl XIV.

But it's nothing to be outraged over. We also learned base-2 numbers in school. Nobody would make a thread about kids using them incorrectly.

The only thing these kids are at fault is the fact they didn't check before they wrote it down, In school we had like a 30 min lesson on it and that was it....it probably wasn't even that long.Knowing Roman numerals won't get you a good job....it's not that serious.
