Im so fukking hyped for this game Ready to kick their Irish ass the only thing that can hurt us is the weather cuz you know us Miami nikkas hate anything under 68 Degrees
Keys to the game
1) key on the tightend Eifert he is their number one pass catching option. He is a mismatch for all of our linebackers. I would probably assign someone like Deon Bush to cover him much like the way the Giants had Kenny Phillips on Vernon Davis in the NFC Championship game. He will get his catches but we can't let the kid beat us.
2) I would lineup leaving at least 7 in the box forcing the Notre Dame quarterbacks to throw outside the hashes. A cover 2 scheme where the corners can come up and jump the flats could be an option. They will try to work the intermediate passing game on us. We have to force them to go down the field where hopefully we can make plays.
3) Trying to get a pass rush out of our front 4 is like hoping for the lottery. Can O'nofrio come up with some new creative blitz schemes where he can send pressure from other positions on the field. Finnie and Eddie Johnson seem like our best blitzing linebacker and db. I would try to use both of them. If Eifert is out of the game I would use Bush off the edge.
4) Continue to alternate fresh pass rushers. We are not very explosive at the defensive end position so the drop off from our starters to backups is not very much. We mine as well keep a steady rotation with Chick, Green, McCord, Hamilton, Cain, and Grimble. The cold air will tire guys out fast and their not use to it. We have to keep fresh bodies out there.
5) WE HAVE TO GAMBLE. If we just sit back and try to take away the big play were going to be playing right into their hands. Kelly would love nothing more than to go up and down the field on 14 play drives and eat up the clock. We have to force them to make mistakes and to go down field with the ball. If they establish a running game we lose Saturday
