I'm all for this as it raises the profile of the game and hopefully gets a sequel announced soon.
Having said all that, as much as I love the game the story wasn't very good. So I'm not sure how they're gonna make this a series, unless the MMORPG seriously expanded on the story.

Wikipedia entry says they are. I think the original also suffered from "lower budget new IP syndrome" this one will definitely have more resources and money thrown at it and likely current gen consoles only so the graphics should hopefully be top notch from Capcom.
I think dragons dogmas main weakness was the story though. The OG release before dark arisen came out had a pretty basic ass story.

i dont see why they wouldnt. DD1 was on MT Framework just like Monster Hunter, then Rise was the first in the franchise on RE Engine.
