I felt this way initially but I've changed my mind. Basketball has illegal defense and nobody complains about that. I'm fine with them banning shifts. The game will be more enjoyable and there will be more hits.

I get the purist perspective but this is entertainment at the end of the day. Get rid of the shift and strictly enforce a pitcher/batter clock. There should never be 45-60 seconds between pitches. A single at-bat should not take five-plus minutes unless there's an ungodly amount of foul balls.

Nah. I dont agree with that at all.

There wont be more hits because of not having a shift. Everyone swings for the fences these days. If there were more contact hitters/actual hitters then there wouldnt be the shifts in the first place cause players actually know how to hit like they did in the 80s, 90s and early 00s.

Also, the shift in comparison to illegal defense in basketball isnt equal. If the defense in basketball double and triple teams, you hit the open teammate for the open jumper/layup. In baseball, if you have HALF of the infield open, you hit the ball to the open area. Simple.

When a defense lines up in a shift and the batter hits it into the opposite field it's always :blessed:

The shift in 10 years will be irrelevant because it's going to make hitters have to adjust and learn how to go "opposite field". Leave that shyt in and let it "naturally" leave

It's weird, I don't hate the shift or have a problem with it but I'm also completely fine with MLB banning it.
